    I worked at Ohio Northern University full-time (more than 5 years)


    The health insurance was not bad if you did not have a family. The location was close enough to interesting place that you could go to for a day or weekend.


    The provost denies people tenure and promotions if they do not publish in areas outside their dissertations. Basically, the work you did in graduate school that was supposed to launch your career is considered worthless here, and with your heavy course load, you will never have the time you need to do the new research projects the administration now demands for promotion. You will not have much in terms of financial resources, either, as every year presents a new crisis in which the university struggles to meet its budget.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get Ph.D.s. Your J.D.s and Ed.D.s are not enough to enable you to comprehend the challenges of publishing academic research in the fields of your faculty.
