    Pros

The people here are great. Lots of people have impressive credentials and great experience (professional and personal). The work environment is second to none, especially in the DC area. This is NOT some poorly-lit run of the mill office where people come to toil at their desks for 8 hours a day and go home. It's the Googliest place I've ever worked, and I hope that won't change as we expand.

    Cons

There are some strong personalities, and it sometimes requires some finesse to work with them. Also, I've never experienced it first-hand, but the politics in some of the delivery teams could use some work. I've heard stories of people just being downright nasty to one another for no good reason. Most of the company has a great collaborative feeling to it, but there are definitely some isolated pockets of nastiness and pettiness that need to be dealt with. I have a feeling that this is due to somewhat weak management in those areas. Senior management seems good, but middle management seems weak. If it isn't dealt with now, it'll start affecting morale, and that would be very bad for the company.

    Advice to Management

Think about how to correct the problems I mentioned above. Other than that, don't lose focus and keep up the good work. I have no doubt that Opower is on track for some big things in the future!
