I have been working at PNC Financial Services Group

    Pros

The best part about PNC was the five weeks of training. The one and only great time I've ever had with this company. The training department are excellent and the co-workers makes the job less hectic. Built great relationships with fellow co-workers and customers.

    Cons

The feel that five weeks of BASIC training in many different categories is enough for you to step out on your own and get the job done with little to no help. Training should constantly continue outside of the training facility into the branches, especially if you were hired with no experience in banking, mortgages, sales, etc... just hired because you have a great personality. There is also no quality leadership. Management comes and goes and FSC's pretty much runs the branch with no breaks. Not enough quality meetings with good feedbacks or thorough brainstorming on how to improve in numbers and gallop scores..just a threat of termination every time numbers are not met. Job description nothing like what was disclosed in interview nor in training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please...please...please thoroughly scan and choose wisely in picking management to run a team. Numbers does not make you an effective manager...especially when your numbers were not even high as an FSC. If you are going to hire people with no type of banking background or sales background whatsoever then be sure to send them to additional training or have your BRANCH MANAGERS work one-on-one with them to make their weak points stronger. You guys just need better management......period!!!!!
