I have been working at Sears full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Working locally in a small town community & getting to know and care about my regular customers is a pleasure.

    Cons

Low pay. Sears fails to support customer expectations, allowing fewer customer service resolution options for independently owned dealers than corporate locations which puts you at a disadvantage. You will be the target of much frustration and disappointment from customers who are naturally unaware of the distinction between Sears Holdings, sears.com, and Sears Hometown & Outlet.
No job security - Sears has been selling off assets (including this division) to no avail. Comp sales continues to decline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate "partners" have no awareness of how this business model plays out in the real world - it simply isn't possible to attract and retain a talented team in privately owned locations.
