I have been working at Sears part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    the opportunity to transfer departments
    the co-workers were always helpful

    Cons

closing is a nightmare - you get to clean up after everyone who has worked all day & you don't get the leave until everything is clean (not just your area)

schedule - be careful what you list as your availability; of course in retail the nights and weekends are a must but that also means you'll get stick working every night & weekend. Unfortunately, I witnessed people making up excuses (no baby-sitter, class, another job, etc) to avoid the trap. I don't blame them; no one wants to work EVERY weekend no matter their availability. Work/Life balance is WAY OFF.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider making a fair schedule for everyone.

Cashiers should clean their own cash wrap (before they leave), maybe then they wouldn't pile up things like there's no tomorrow.

FOR GOD'S SAKE, GET A FITTING ROOM ATTENDANT.
