    I worked at Smiths Medical ASD full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Because they cut costs where ever possible, in some departments you get the opportunity to do things you wouldn't do in other jobs. Just don't expect being compensated for it. Many of the employees were very good at what they did. The rest were in over their heads.

    Cons

    Upper management were about protecting their bonuses while freezing salaries and bonuses for everyone else. In four years I had one prorated raise and bonus, saw PTO changes that resulted in everyone losing 1-2 weeks.
    No product pipeline and development timelines ensuring that they will never take a lead in anything. PMs often are internal hires guaranteeing the same problems. Seems they desperately want to be bought out but don't want to do what's needed to make them a company worth buying

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Only advice would be to replace all of the upper managers and bring in outside talent. Too many of the senior staff are entrenched in their rolls.
