    Pros

    Learn a lot about cooking only if you work in the Mane kitchen directly under the Chef or if you work at a location called "Overlook". If you are Culinary, those are the best places to work. Otherwise, you work at the different hot dog stands, and food carts which can be fun if you don't mind working by yourself or with just one other person. And if you are young, there are lots of young people there. Its a good entry level job for a Cook or for someone needing a job really bad and don't mind working outside, around animals, dealing with customers and potentially being bored and pretty isolated all day.

    Cons

    Poor moral. Especially because the GM that was there at the time ( who I hear is gone now) talked down on her workers and micro manages. She makes it an uncomfortable work environment. She doesn't trust her workers and steps on toes all day. She wants to control everything. Thus, its a lot of back biting amongst the workers. And old lady in the kitchen is rude and conniving, just messy. Everyone is under paid and over worked. Its run like a plantation and you are expendable. There are no perks and no support if there is a problem. The managers cant help you because they have no power. The GM controls EVERYTHING and cares nothing about her staff. The banqueting department is under utilized. If you are ghetto and like messiness this is a great place to work for you ( according to my experience) but if you are intelligent, with great ideas and genuinely trying to learn and advance yourself, be prepared to take a beat down.

    Advice to Management

    Take your Culinary staff seriously. Some people come in there to genuinely build a career and have a lot to offer Find out their strengths, and weaknesses. Don't just build off their weaknesses and tear then down. Pay them better, stop treating your workers there they like trash. And we know its true because at that location vs. other Sodexo's in the city, the workers there are the lowest paid. And build on your HR staff, get people who are qualified and serious about there work and serious about the workers. They should be available to offer conflict resolution and support, more perks... its possible to make that a fun working environment, and you should utilize your banqueting department in offering lunches and breakfasts for Professionals and families. Bag lunches and bagels are not just all you guys can offer. You can do a lot more. Build on your Culinary staff. Offer a better diet for your workers, such as a salad bar, which you should include for your customers as well. Give surveys every 6 months. Not just to Customers, but to the workers about their experience working there. Feed back should be well taken and seen as a way to improve the work environment and services. Get someone to clean the bathrooms on a regular basis ( they are filthy). Be professional, be courteous. Pay people for sick days when they are suppose to get it. Ensure people get their lunches and bathroom breaks.
