    I worked at Spectrum Brands full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Company really good at being value player in CPG. Willing to be aggressive to win new business. Willing to invest to win new business. Continues to work to stay ahead of competition in pricing and innovation/performance. Knows their competition very well and keeps in touch with the market changes.

    Cons

    Very aggressive with personnel. Willing to make changes very quickly in both hiring and firing. Can create a feeling of instability in employees. Not afraid to broadcast internally the aggressive nature with which they handle personnel. Can tend to be too aggressive with product and pricing programs that are not sustainable in the long term.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get to know your people better to understand what motivates them versus what intimidates them.
