I have been working at SunGard full-time (more than 5 years)Pros
Great organisation to sell for. Perk, power and money.
Dwindling pockets of professional, dedicated and individual contributors.Cons
Fanciful marketing programs that creates an illusion of career progression to lure in fresh graduates. The reality is that fresh graduates are meant to be cheap and disposable meat-shield to be thrown in front of clients.
Work-life balance is non existent. Most projects are in death-march mode, customer support consist of being abused by client and trash talked by middle-management for not managing client expectation.
Increasing sales presence thanks need to juice up balance sheet in preparation for IPO. Think 2 Sales to 1 Project resource. Strong process in place to assure revenue so that senior management can move on to the next cash cow.
If you are a potential customer, be very careful. You will be misled. Check multiple reference through your own network and not just the ones provided by the sales. Check where the reference is working after the deal is closed.
Company reorganisation, followed by retrenchment, is a annual event. The thinning middle management has led to growing psychological pressure imposed onto rank and file.Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookDisapproves of CEO
