    I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living

    Pros

    Initially it was good experience with team members and management that cared about your professional growth. PT and FT team members received benefits.

    Cons

    Poor rate of pay for the amount/ nature of work. Inconsistent pay scales. Fairness issues with manager- ie. For new members of coordinator staff- received positive reinforcement and measurable and attainable goals to increase performance when problems arose. For existing members of coordinator staff- received one more strike/ another reason for termination (this happened on three separate occasions with all members being terminated.) Benefits for PT employees were expensive.

    Consistent throughout the company- high turnover rate at the coordinator level; issues of fairness/ quality of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Sunrise needs to be more thorough before they hire management to lead their communities. Bringing in a new manager who cleans house and looks for ways to get rid of existing staff isn't a way to show you care about your employees or their experience and service to the company.
