    I worked at Sur La Table full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Autonomy and minimal micromanaging if you meet corporate set goals.
    Freedom to connect with outside businesses
    Near complete control of staff hiring and training

    Cons

    Bonus are all or nothing; multiple metrics must be met to earn a single bonus amount
    One poor month of revenue has corporate micromanaging all variable expenses
    Company is moving away from a customer centric model to a cost reduction model

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remember what made SLT a draw for customers, fantastic service. Developing processes and trainings to produce happy employees will lead to happy customers. This concept has slowly dwindled over the past few years.
