I worked at Synaptics as an intern (less than an year)Pros
Syna has a great company culture and invests a lot of time and resources into their employees. They push for a well-adjusted work-life balance for all of their employees and everyone I talked to were very happy working for Synaptics.
Synaptics is very flexible for their employee needs. Micromanaging is at a minimum, and employees generally set their own hours.
Everyone at the company is very approachable and willing to help.
*One of the most generous intern programs around, especially for a company of its size compared to other big industry players.
*Although hourly compensation is lower than other industry internships, there is a $1000 signing bonus and a performance-based ending bonus. Plus we were given loads of free stuff, including a brand new tablet.
*Intern events were fun and helped interns connect (go karting, visiting the Computer History museum, etc.)
*HR was very friendly
*Every week or two, there were "lunches with leaders" in which interns were able to hear from leaders within the company about Syna and it's history and future outlook.Cons
None that I saw...only an intern though. Did not get caught up in office politics.
*Lack of help with housing was a downer. It may change in the future.
*Felt slightly isolated from other interns, due to the fact we were in separate departments doing individual projects.RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEO
