    Pros

    T. Rowe is veritably stocked with sharp, enthusiastic, and community-service oriented people who do a very beautiful job of collaborating and innovating on often daunting and uncharted enterprises. The leaders of the institution are down to earth, incredibly smart, and dedicated to institutional stability.

    Cons

Within the internal enterprise publishing department, processes are often either longstanding and thus Byzantine or frighteningly improvisational. The internal communications departments would be well served to study and implement the remarkably successful systematic and research-based approach taken by the financial services branches of the organization; as it often seemed as though production processes (most notably with respect to video production) were not particularly well thought out or adequately vetted. Sadly, as is the case in many organizations that create mixed teams of contractors and full time staff, there is a fair bit of disregard and lack of respect on the part of management toward their in-house contract staff. My ultimate assessment is that this is a great company to work on staff for, but I would strongly suggest potential contract employees be prepared to receive a markedly lower level of support, security, and mentoring from management in comparison to their full time staff colleagues.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees, and responding to them directly. The level of voluntary executive accountability displayed by TRP's leadership is inspiring.
