I worked at Texas Campaign for the Environment full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone was nice and really seemed to care about the issues they were selling.

    Cons

This job is just a door to door saleman gig. I have sold the newspaper door to door and done this door to door. At least selling the newspaper didn't seem as sleezy. With the newspaper the people I talked to knew I was getting paid from their subscriptions. This organization hides thinly behind the veil of being a non-profit org. They want people to believe that the money they are giving will make a difference, but a full half of the money goes to paying employees. They are not really upfront with people about what they are selling. Drug dealers are more truthful. They bring you in for this sham interview and then hire everyone who can walk and talk. They never really tell you what the job duties are in the interview.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop what you are doing. Consider using volunteers.
