Great company to work for with an abudant opportunity to grow in the company. THD values all associates especially the ones that contibute to the company selflessly. I love the ability to run the business day to day operation and work with the associates and customers. Everyday is a new opportunity to excel personally and to help others grow in the company as well. Customers were a great experience - the nice ones and the tough ones. It's really what you turn it into, an opportunity or a business loss. With retail the expectations are 55-65 hour work week. 5-6 days aweek. TYPICALLY 5 days. Work life balance is up to you to plan it out, preferably on non-holiday events. Sometimes you can get those special holidays off.
Retail is retail sometimes work life balance can be hindered but great leadership from your Store Manager,SM, and support from your peers is key. Effective leadership is a must. Without it you have an overpaid ASM.
Advice to Management
Leadership experience is crutial when an ASM is promoted to the SM position. A head full of knowledge, managemt skills, is great to have, being able to read the financial health of the business is pricless. But when it lacks leadership it is ends up to be self-serving and at the expense of your future leaders. People dont leave companies, they leave leadership. Or the lack thereof. My advise- focus on true leadership skills when promoting to the SM and above. Dont allow the politic games tp take root, you end up with the lesser than the greater and It hurts peoples careers. Im gratefull for the opportunity given, I was one of those people that left the leadership.
