I worked at United States House of Representatives as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Incredible opportunity, you get to really learns the ins and out of Congress. As an intern you have access to every resource on the Hill which is awesome. If you're lucky LC's will give you hands on work researching specific pieces of legislature or hot topic issues.

    Cons

Constituent mail and phone calls can be endless and quite boring. There are points in the congressional calendar where there is literally nothing to do but sit by the phones or pick up flags, be careful when you choose to intern. Most of these internships are also unpaid which gets old fast.
