Generally positive; it was interesting to see how the government works at a local level.

Former Employee - District Office Intern in Burbank, CA

I worked at United States House of Representatives as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Laid back office environment; many opportunities to meet local leaders and other interns interested in the same field; met the Congressman a few times.

    Cons

Slow days; frequent phone calls from any constituents who don't understand that as an intern you essentially have no power. Maybe it's different working in Washington DC and helping out with legislation, but working in the district was very laid back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire less interns, too many students doing nothing
