I worked at Verizon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits package for an employee, education assistance up to a max of 8k, telecommute option and flexible work schedule. highly discounted very good gym facility for employees, may not be available at all locations. Company matches up to 6% of employee contribution in 401k. Annual performance related bonuses. Will I go back? Yes, I will. On my terms.

    Cons

Security? Whats that? Layoffs is the norm. Best is to keep your skills & knowledge sharp and up to date. And keep changing companies. Several years ago pension scheme was reduced to 401k. Change is the name of the game. Go with the flow.
