I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The training when i was there was quite good! The health and vision benefits are decent. The pay is okay. There are different shifts offered and seniority has first choice (the good news is that you can achieve seniority within a short span due to turnover).

    Cons

The health and vision benefits are decent. Leave and disability seem good, until you try to use them.If you try to use disability, you will learn that claiming disability can possibly cost you your job and you may have to pay it back even if you were initially approved, they can change their mind. If you take any leave or vacation time then you will find it difficult to make your "goals." If you like a LOT of stress this may be the job for you! You will be monitored and micro-managed at every move you make. You will have to decide if the stress is worth what you are being paid. There are a LOT of people that work at VERIZON that are medicated, in one form or another. There is no such thing as work/life balance. NEVER trust anyone!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop looking at employees as replaceable, as just a number. If a business is going to grow and be successful then both your customers and your employees need to be happy. I am not suggesting allowing employees to "chat" endlessly but I am suggesting that when you have customers that require more assistance than a 3 minute call can accomplish that the employee is not "punished" for helping them, instead of rushing them off of the phone. Customers know that that is what is going on!
