Used to be great. Sadly, took a nose dive.

I have been working at Wikia full-time

    Pros

Most of the people are nice, fun, creative types as individuals.
The users and content are really interesting to work with.
    Hours are flexible.

    Cons

People feel beaten down and abused by top-down style of the upper management.

Unclear focus. Feels like following random and disorganized projects that don't lead to better brand awareness, revenue or users but more like personal pet projects of the marketing people or CEO.

Lots of gossip, HR breaches of trust, politicking, cliques. Didn't used to be that way.

Good people have all left or are interviewing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop micromanaging. Speak respectfully. Everyone has a role to play that is important, understand that. You didn't build this company by yourself. A yearly party doesn't absolve this.
