I worked at YMCA part-time (more than an year)

It was a fun environment with lots of social activities and a laid back atmosphere. My boss shot nerf darts at me for fun, which should give you a clue as to her management style. I received lots of training for my childcare position and there was alot of support from higher ups. Plus, you know you are part of something that adds to community, which is always a good feeling. You get a free membership, too!

The pay was decent for the work, but in the small town Y I worked for, there weren't many opportuniities for growth and advancement. Also, it was very difficult to take off work, because you had to find someone from within the small pool of employees to cover for you if you were absent, and usually no one was available because they had at least two part time jobs to try to get full time work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer some benefits to part-time employees...it is hard to keep staff if they cannot receive full-time hours and no benefits.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
