    Pros

3D leader with great product line. New technologies are creating great products lines for the future.

    Cons

Buying too many companies which makes creating a stable corporate culture very difficult. Need to get over the fact that it's the oldest 3D printing company, HP doesn't care who started 3D printing, they are going to be a huge threat to 3D if they don't get their act together.

    Pros

3Dsystems is involved in cutting edge 3d printing application materials including metals, ceramic, plastic, sugar , chocolate. (food printing)

    Cons

market is still young for mainstream 3D printing applications; most of momentum is due to marketing campaigns, etc. Would like to see more practical consumer apps

    Advice to Management

More of a game plan, rather than quick hit projects to see what sticks..

    Pros

As a fast-growing, acquisitive company, there are many opportunities to get experience that is hard to find elsewhere. You work with many smart, hard working people in many departments. Very interesting technology and applications

    Cons

Salary is not always as high as it should be, but awards of common stock help the overall compensation package. Long hours and tight deadlines in many departments- doesn't seem to be all though.

    Pros

If you want to be involved in the latest technology and work in a cool industry you won't go wrong applying to work at 3D Systems. Everyone is friendly and the work atmosphere couldn't be better. They have a great gym to help keep you in shape they have a really good work life balance since I have started working here.

    Cons

Pay and advancement opportunities are said to be high when going through the hiring process. However, once your in you will find out that there are dead ends for both or you get passed up by less experienced people.

    Advice to Management

I would be a bit more realistic with potential new hires so they can make better choices on employment and advancement opportunities.

    Pros

    Talented, smart executive management

    Growing and innovative industry

Company is global and is growing at a fast rate

    Excellent work-life balance

Great place to be if you're a sales manager or project manager or already in good with the management team that remains/is brought in after acquisitions

Definitely feel like you're a part of something big that is making a difference in the way the world does business.

Great place to get in on the ground and get your feet wet.

    Cons

Growth is by swallowing up new companies at the speed of light.

Despite the money for all these acquisitions, you are underpaid.

Not enough (and by that, I mean after the beginning acquisition period, not any) face time with people with the power to promote you.

Therefore, management tends to promote who they already knew pre-acquisition and you are sidelined, marginalized, or outright let go.

Extremely easy to fade into obscurity or be placed in a computerized box where attempts to innovate and be proactive are shut down because they are too busy trying to make bigger post-acquisition(ssss) glitches smooth out to give your ideas due space and consideration.

Bad place to be if you want to grow your career past the stage at which you entered the company and are not in the 3 or 4 categories I listed under the "great place to be" pro item.

You can get in, but you can't get what you need to get past go and develop a career, they kind of dumb you down into just a job.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to develop entry level talent who has shown dedication and willingness to go the extra mile for the company. Take the time to breathe in between acquisitions and let the dust settle so you can see what you got before you run to get more! Take the time to give raises, promotions, CHANCES at raises and promotions! Answer emails. Answer voicemails. Answer them before an issue goes from a pressing question to a bonfire that has reached the customer's attention and pissed them off. Don't micromanage and then not even read the deliverables until something that went unaddressed (because of lack of response to emails, voicemails, etc.) goes horribly wrong in a ripple effect across teams and departments. <<<probably would not happen if the company took a half a moment to inhale in between acquisitions. And, give more opportunities to cross-train with other departments.
