    Pros

Pay was above minimum wage at the time. (2012)
    Friendly co-workers
    Great Customers
Got to meet people from all over the work

    Cons

    Horrible Management.
Managers were often rude and nasty.
Worked overtime with out overtime pay or breaks
Given tasks that had nothing to do with job like pick up cigarettes for managers.
Would cut off all hours and never let you know your job is terminated.
It's been two years and I haven't had any hours and the never said I was fire.

    Advice to Management

Managers are actually the ones who need training. At least notify an employee if they have been fire don't cut off their hours and delete their employee account without notification.

    Pros

Talking with customers and training employees.

    Cons

Not enough time to do what was needed to succeed. Held responsible when store is slow and sales are down.

    Advice to Management

Allow a little more time for employees so we can get stuff done.

    Pros

I got to meet a lot of cool, amazing people that worked with me.
For a first job it was really good pay at the time.
    Discount was cool too.
Great introduction to the industry and retail.
    Good experience

    Cons

Terrible work scheduling. Shifts would get cut or extended out of no where. The store would close at 10, sometimes the employees wouldn't go home till 12-1am. This was horrible I had an hour subway ride home at 12-1am! The managers didn't care!
The managers kept changing, and the rules kept changing, and the expectations only grew. I never got a pay increase 6 plus months I worked there !

    Advice to Management

Close on time! People have lives and need to get home!

    Pros

The discount here is very hard to beat, especially if you take advantage of the clearance rack. I have bought really great basics for $2 or less. Most of my coworkers were really energetic and great to work with. They made working there fun, and made the shifts go by quickly. Although I disliked most of my managers, there were a few that were really fantastic. They were supportive and really cared. Store standards were kept at a good level and it was not difficult to get on board and learn the ropes. If you are looking for a first time retail job in high school or want a part-time job in college, I would consider Aero because they really encourage a young, fun ambiance. If you are older, consider a retail store that caters to adults.

    Cons

This sounds like every other retail con review but management was a nightmare. The store manager was unprofessional and talked about inappropriate things like her love life. But if you wanted hours or to have a good shift, you had to smile and listen. Although I had a BA and applied as an assistant manager position, I was hired first as a sales associate (so I could learn the ropes before becoming manager) but then was passed over for someone who the store manager was close to. Later I found out that the store manager and that particular employee had a personal relationship before I had gotten there. There were other, great candidates as well, people who had been working there for years, but they were passed over as well. There was drama in the back, with managers crying or yelling at times. I knew this place did not fit with my working lifestyle but I stayed because I was having a hard time finding another job due to the recession. Aero gave me more hours than my last retail job. I left after I found a full time position in a school.

    Advice to Management

Consider workers for promotions who are consistent and hard working. Do not solely rely on your store manager's opinions. Regional managers, please do more to pay attention to what is going on in your stores. Be professional and do not play favorites.

    Pros

Great policies in place, employee discount was nice, corporate had fair contests that motivated sales teams, fast paced environment, never a dull moment.

    Cons

Internal promotions beyond assistant manager rarely happens, district and regional managers are more about the personal connection (favoritism) than in store successes, usually this favoritism results in drunken nights out, sleepovers, etc. DMs and RMs are not professional in any sense. Company is changing their hiring qualities from outgoing and great sellers to the cutest and best looking.

    Pros

Paid vacation, personal days, monthly bonus opportunities, full benefits: dental, vision, prescription and medical. Work on your feet all day at a flexible relaxed company.

    Cons

Late nights, weekend work. Limited internal promotions and forced job relocation unannounced (within reasonable distance) overtime paid at half your hourly rate.

    Pros

The only thing good about working here is the employee discount. I hated this job. I will NEVER work here again.

    Cons

You could work on folding a table of clothes for 10 minutes even an hour and it takes only one second for a customer to mess it up because they don't care. Management sucked, the hours sucked. I was supposed to be part-time but instead I got less than seasonal.

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees the same. You're there to do a job, not make friends half your age.

    Pros

    good vacation days, decent salary

    Cons

unfair treatment to employees, gotta be careful who you say things to, bunch of fake people, favoritism...based on seniority & how well you play the game, poor managers who don't even know how to manage people at all. & company is doing very bad financially!

    Advice to Management

HR should hear what employees have to say about their managers and reviews should not be just one sided. Managers should also be evaluated as well....there's a lot of managers who are just with Aeropostale for a long time, it doesn't mean they know how to be a good manager.

    Pros

The store offers an employee discount and it is an easy job to learn and grow accustom to pretty quickly.

    Cons

There seems to be a very quick turnover not only in sales associates, however in store managers as well. The particular store I worked for was pretty unorganized.

    Advice to Management

    Leadership should be improved.
