    Pros

    Personal growth through experience. Learn about policies with various organizations.

    Cons

    Only 18 hours a week and paid minimum wage. It's only a 4 year program in the life of the person, so if employers don't want to hire you then your left unemployed.

    The only company that allow seniors a chance at working with a host agency.

    Cons

    Looking for work is the down size to the job. especially if you are a senior 60+.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you have not been with the company for several years and need assistance you should be considered for employment. The waiting list may take several years and beyond to be called in for work.

    Pros

    Good work-life balance philosophy in most, if not all departments. The company makes various types of training available and facilitates registration. In addition to being a pleasant work environment, the community service opportunities add to the value of AARP as a community entity. The cafeteria is also great to have.

    The matrix management structure can be challenging to navigate when decisions are needed.
