I have been working at ABB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your rotational positions are extremely flexible. You are able to try different aspects of engineering , where in other rotational programs this is not allowed. For example, your able to rotate into a sales engineering role, business development role, project management, or design engineering. The program manager works one on one with you to shape your career. Once the rotation is over the program manager does their best to set you up with a position you are comfortable with and they are behind you 100% of the way. In addition because you are rotating the ability to travel is a great experience and the relocation package for the PAL program is very generous.

    Cons

Due to it being a large company it can be frustrating to get things done. This goes across all large companies but you will find that many times you have to wait on another persons response in order to get your project complete.

    Advice to Management

This is more general advice as I have gone through several managers with various styles of management throughout my rotations, one thing I have noticed is the impact of a diligent manager. If they are crystal clear and specific at what they want it saves a large amount of time.

I worked at ABB as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The office that worked in, did not have more than 50 employees. So that is what, I think, keeps them well-knit and in harmony. During my stay, I never sensed any political tension which made my learning process even smoother.

    Cons

I do not see any cons!

    Advice to Management

It was nice of you to have free snacks for employees and also the potluck events. My advice would be, the snack bar is not necessarily healthy. You might want to conduct a survey regarding this.

I have been working at ABB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Since starting less than a year ago I have been given the opportunity to move up into a new role with more responsibility and exposure to working with our suppliers. The company continues to transition into a better place to work. Great benefits

    Cons

Working through and being patient with the changes happening with the leadership team and restructuring of the organization

    Advice to Management

Pay attention and take seriously the feedback that is received from your teams.

I have been working at ABB as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Very versatile, the program is set up to expose you to many different aspects of the way this division works. I work for power Systems. The employees are from various cultures and countries. Although it is an office space, it is a very dynamic work environment, as everyone is not afraid to ask questions and I never felt that I had to know everything. It is a welcoming environment and a productive one as well.

    Cons

This is not necessarily a con, but it can be a stressful environment. You will be put on several projects at once and need to learn how to multitask. This is your responsibility as an employee, not a con of the company. Again, everyone is extremely helpful, so communicating is important and efficient.

    Advice to Management

Come in with an open mind set and be ready to learn.
