    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to employees, acknowledge work life balance. We're not here to serve you 24hrs, some of us have families and kids to deal with at home.

I have been working at ABC Imaging full-time

    Pros

In my position, I work autonomously. I work at a cliet site and have little interaction with superiors. Client site is convenient location, decent staff and office perks such as occasional food. Healthcare benefits are decent, but expensive, and they seem to change every year so the company can get a better deal.

    Cons

Salary is stagnant. No performance reviews and if there are, it's a "SELF REVIEW". Work load increases and there is no compensation for additional tasks (ones that have nothing to do with my job). Upper management doesn't back you up if there is an issue with the client.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff like they are important. Give them a reason to perform to excellence with some kind of incentive. Increased salary would be nice, but even the occasional grace of coming in late or leaving early without penalty (for salaried employees) would be a start, especially since most of the salaried employees work more than 40-50 hrs a week.

I have been working at ABC Imaging

    Pros

The pay is not great but I can live off it. It is very AVERAGE. The workplace isn't usually stressful. Only when senior management decides to blow something out of proportion. The hours are steady and i have learned a lot. The best pro is the relationship I have made with our nice clients. They appreciate me more than my superiors & show more support/kindness.

    Cons

I get fed up seeing senior mangement degrade people. They do not know how to listen and try to belittle people. It seems unnesessary. It creates a climate of fear. My boss is scared to ask trivial questions or requests. Everyone walks on eggshells around the same 5 "VP"s and GM that have been with abc for a really long time. the ceo lets them yell and scream at the staff and stays loyal no matter what they do. They get moved around to different positions but never are they dismissed. They seem to have a special boys club pass. Meanwhile really great people are biting their tongues. Meanwhile people are being surpassed and looked over. Meanwhile people are looking for new jobs because the chance of advancement or promotion is nonexistent.

The other reviews have said it, There are no raises. A pay cut was made and there was never any communication whether we would ever get it back. the company seems to be growing so it seems like they can afford to give it back PLUS some. It would make people so much happier to say they work for abc. The reward would be a huge payoff through hard work if employees felt well taken care of. But instead people seem down and stressed about the next payday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If i was the leader, I would give back to the veterans. I would make sure they are happy and dont leave. I would impress my clients my treating my staff with great salaries and benefits. I think matching on 401 K would be awesome. I think abc should restructure the power. Redistribute the wealth. Trust the people that work for you. LISTEN to feedback. Don't yell and put down the people that are working hard to give you a great life- reward them (us) so they (we) can also have productive families, own a home & be healthy/successful. Support the decisions of your shops and fms. Show that you care (if you do indeed care).

I have been working at ABC Imaging

    Pros

    - I have never been given a hard time about taking PTO, and, if there is a schedule conflict, they work with me to find a more suitable date.
    - There is no micro-management involved in being a FM Manager. Though, I hear otherwise from those working in one of their Print Shops.
    - Pretty much an 8-5 M-F job. Some overtime (not often). Weekend work is very, very rare.
    - The work isn't very hard. You do not require a college degree to work here. There is a small learning curve as you go along, but as long as you have strong customer service skills, you should be fine.

    Cons

    - No payraise in 4 years; received 7% pay cut in January 2009. Only given one offical review during this time, with no raise. And I had to ask numerous times to get even that.
    - Little room for advancement. If they like you in your position, you will stay there forever until you leave the company for another opportunity.
    - The people judging your work day-to-day are people that are not employed by ABC (a FM Manager oversees the printing of a client company, so you are considered a "vendor", or "contractor" with the company you are working out of). If you are doing a good job, you know this by the fact that you will never hear from ABC Imaging at all, which I guess is good, but then again, this is probably why I don't get regular evaluations. They only talk to you when something is generally wrong.
    - Salaries are quite low. Would recommend that you have a part-time job to supplement your income.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Give regular, yearly reviews, regardless of a pay raise.
    - Weekly check-in by upper management.
    - Acknowledge hard work on a regular basis. Sometimes acknowledgement is just as important as the monetary compensation.
