    Pros

Great to see that your work helps in saving lives.
    Not too much politics.
    Friendly people.
    You learn a lot.
    Talented people.

    Cons

    Priorities change too often.
Main reason for people leaving is they get burnt out from too much work.
    Management is a little disconnected.
    Insurance premium keeps going up.
Annual salary increase is 2% of you meet expectation (hard to keep up with inflation).

    Advice to Management

    Hire more engineers.
    Connect with employees.
Stop treating every project like an emergency.

  3. Abiomed is a company you can be proud and passionate to work for. The work at times is intense, but rewarding.

    Pros

Knowing what you do saves lives. Good work for good pay. Most of the management team is understanding and reasonable to work with. Not a lot of politics.

    Cons

In some departments, the work load is heavier than others and people are required to work 60-70 hours per week every week. Some of the executive team are micro-managers and haven't learned to trust their teams.

    Advice to Management

Provide what you want done and guidelines and then let your teams execute.

    - You get to contribute directly to products that save people's lives
    - On the engineering side, there are a lot of smart people.
    - Their products are very innovative

    Cons

    - At Abiomed, the philosophy of assigning work to employees is to assign more work than an employee can handle. You will always feel behind schedule
    - The Salary is not very competitive.
