I have been working at ABM Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits and pay. Some teams can work from home.

    Cons

No direction from management. Their priorities are all over the place from switching platform at the drop of a hat, to having everyone travel for no good reason.
Personal finance projects (Having to raise 10 million dollars for some personal project) and initiatives are discussed in vendor meetings.
Inappropriate treatment of employees (Embarrass and intimidate).
All of the smart people have left already leaving us to work the craziest hours imaginable.
We have many system outages because of lack of leadership and planning.

    Pros

Steady work. Job stability. Sometimes meet nice people. But other than that. There are absolutely no pros for this job.

    Cons

Management doesn't care. Site supervisor is terrible, lazy and a very unfair. Pay and tips are horrible. No benefits. No growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your valet attendants better. Provide with more benefits. Communicate with staff.

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits.
Some departments are able to work from home.

    Cons

    Very poor processes and procedures.
The leaders have ZERO leadership abilities. They have many VP's that travel allot, to do what no one knows.
Forget trying to take a vacation, unless you are a VP.
No work/life balance at all. You work every day and weekends.
    Employees are very under appreciated.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, nice coffee machines, everyone is pregnant

    Cons

Senior management sets a bad tone with favoritism and sexism, office culture is poor, big egos at the top, few opportunities to advance from within, cutthroat, poor work-life balance, no merit reward system to motivate, staff is either very old (and stuck in a dead end) or fresh out of college with no idea what's coming. Company is too big and impersonal. Company has no vision. HR is a joke. Won't pay to keep talent or get new talent.

I worked at ABM Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a good company for stay at home moms, college students and any individual willing to do what is acquired of them within the company.

    Cons

This company will have you floating from building to building with no security for a permanent position. They tend to hire family, friends and unmotivated individuals with no desire in improving the company. Co-workers and staff will lie cheat and steal from you if they feel as though it will advance their position while destroying yours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

ABM needs to stop hiring within their circles. The managers and supervisors are not honest trustworthy and do not have leadership skills. No room for promotion I worked almost 7 years for the company. They will start lying about work ethic if presented with permanent positions. The union also needs some readjustments as well.

I worked at ABM Industries part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great if you have no life and don't need money to live on.

    Cons

No raises, no benefits, no advancement. Managers can change schedule to something you can't possibly work, even if you've been there for years. Endless hollow promises regarding raises, advancement, etc, none of which ever take place. This was the worst job I ever had. I only stuck with it because the job market at the time was so bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like people, rather than expecting them to work endlessly with no vacations, raises, and benefits.
