    Pros

    The company has the ability to be more than a leader in its industry having the financial foundation and long established history of being a successful business for both employees and investors.

    Cons

    ADT executives have been aware for many years that high employee turnover, low morale, and increased customer attrition exists but have ben slow to respond. Benefits are extremely expensive for employees with family. Positions with base pay below senior management is competitively low and the bonuses program has been eliminated and replaced with unrealistic targets.

    Advice to Management

    Management needs to offer salaries above the competitive rate as an industry leader, be family friendly, get serious about attrition, and have realistic business goals to become an employer of choice.

    Pros

    Lots of incentives to exceed, some leads that are dangled in front of you, some great people, some not so great leaders

    Cons

    There was never a consistency, there were leads promised and then given away to different departments based on the managers deals and quotas, not their personal teams. Very regimented, no freedom and big brother type every move you make, need to report back to micro management.

    Advice to Management

    Loosen up, let a sales person do their job and don't give away promised quota of leads when hired to different dept. or b/c of favoritsm.

    There are no pros to work for ADT

    Cons

    Consistent errors in employees pays, not paying employees for their earned wages. Uneducated managers. Anti cooperate culture. Anti American culture being promoted by management.

    Advice to Management

    Educate yourself. Respect USA. Leave the country if you are against it.

    Pros

    Cost of insurance is competitive.

    Cons

    100% commission, micromanaged as if you earn a high salary. Get ready to handle every aspect of the sale., although there are employees that are on salary that are paid to do it. Order entry, installation, commission reporting, billing, customer service. Yep, thats you job or you don't get paid. Sales reps are required to plead for earned commissions in a facebook format. Each day there are pages of entries. Professional sales people need not apply..ADT wants entry level, desperate folks to knock on doors and sell their friends and family. When they become frustrated with getting paid in a couple of months, they leave. Thats fine with ADT, they do not pay owed commissions once you leave. They look for another and the cycle starts again. Turnover is 100%.

    Advice to Management

    Value your sales reps. Attempt to understand what they do for your company every day.its painfully obvious every day, you don't have a clue and don't care.Pay them a livable wage that does not require a 70 hour work week. Maybe if you didn't have more vice presidents than sales reps, this would be possible.

    Pros

    Being outdoors, meeting new people, traveling. Really not to many good things to say about this position. They get you in with big promises and don't deliver.

    Cons

    Micro management, using my own auto while they pay minimum expenses, waiting for installers to install equipment prior to getting paid, competing with the company itself for sales, as they have authorized resellers, in house telemarketers, etc. Admit up front it is "commission only" 1099 position and do not advertise it as a W2, corporate job. Sales people are own their own out here!

    Advice to Management

    Since the Tyco split, get a clue. Support your sales staff who actually do work hard and are trying to do a good job. Do not take back commission if a customer does not pay in 30 days: we are sales people, not bill collectors. Sales people want to sell and move on to another sale, not back track to collect bills that your accounting department can handle.

    Pros

    Minimum 40 hrs, healthy perks bonus, if u are handy you can teach yourself

    Cons

    Horrible management, poor training, lousy customer service. Treat customers like they don't matter. God help you if you work as a tech or agent, they will destroy your pride and make you gravel for a .25 cent raise

    Advice to Management

    Put all managers back thru ADI, lose the superiority complex, fire bad agents and managers, rethink the corporate agenda before you go bankrupt

    Pros

    Make your own schedule.
    Some truly amazing people work there.
    If you're on the right team, the team work is awesome

    Cons

    If you work in residential sales, although it's a commission only job, they make you work 6 days a week.
    Very little training
    High turnover
    They let you know you are replaceable
    Comision only, and they take back your pay if the customer cancels in the first 6 months
    Shady managers
    Constantly changing the way you can make your number and get paid
    If you're on the wrong team, people will steal from one another
    Company is the biggest sales hurdle

    Advice to Management

    Stop changing the pay scales.
    Fix the customer service so the reps won't loose money
    Teach how to prospect

    Pros

    Few and far between. Supplied with cheap tools. Given a work van but don't dare try to make a personal stop

    Cons

    Sub par pay, micromanagement, a culture of everything being the employees fault, policy changes daily without warning

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees as the adults they are instead of like children that need reprimanding. Pay at least the market rate for the work being done rather than below even mom and pop shops

    Pros

    1: 401k match is the biggest pro
    2: brand name

    Cons

    1: pay 100% commission with very few company leads anymore ( hope you like door to door )
    2: vacation pay = no such thing lol
    3. Micro managed to death
    4: unpaid mandatory meetings
    5: constant pressure to hit quotas
    6: The primary focus is self generated sales

    Advice to Management

    Realize the value of employees with knowledge & experience. Realize it's more important to be customer obsessed than obsessed with making a profit. Value the sales people with knowledge of product and customer relation skills instead of unit pushers giving away free systems with no knowledge of product just to make quick $. The focus of this position is numbers not customers.
