    Pros

    Flexible schedules, great people to work with.

    Cons

    No growth within, no vacations, long hours, not enough pay (depends on area) very competitive, also no discounting, and changes for sales rep constantly and not for the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do some kind of residual income from new contracts for sales reps this may give them incentive to do more customer service after the 6 months. Additionally there has to be more company appointments for reps who hit there SG goals.

    Pros

    You got paid for 2 months worth of training and the job is not difficult.

    Cons

    Management is promoted from outside and within. You don't get your own desk as a CSR and must share with the team, there is little opportunity for growth and development. You get underpaid for what is required from you.

    Pros

    The amenities at the Boca Raton, FL HQ are amazing! There is a food court type cafeteria, hair and nail salon, gym, spa, parking garage, etc.

    Cons

    Absolutely no work/life balance! They could care less about your personal life. Day to day I wouldn't know if I would be able to go home by even 6:00 pm. I could never make solid plans--not even for the weekend! I could understand it during a busy time (month-end close, etc.) but this was all the time. I believe this is an issue caused by executive management. They change things last minute and then wants it done before you leave. There is constant turnover which happens within months of starting due to the horrible work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get organized, establish standard processes and most of all...respect your employees and their personal lives! No one wants to work in a sweat shop type environment!

    Pros

    big company and benefits if you work for corporate.

    Cons

    bring ur own lead in.
    go to meetings and not be paid.
    supply your own car
    hire and fire
    anyone can get employed here
    They are always looking for Mr. hot shot salesman

    pay people a base salary you get more out of them and dedication. less arguing with management about showing up for meetings and event when your not paid for them.

    Pros

    Opportunity to help people stay safe, although you can buy monitoring for $15/mo if you look around.
    And it will be exactly the same level of "safety" you get with ADT, since response times depend upon the police, no matter what the salesman tells you!

    Cons

    The company charges 300-600 for cameras, and they're not even wireless or motion activated!
    You can buy 8 wireless cameras on ebay for under 200. Free software online allows you to capture MOTION ACTIVATED video but the company doesn't even know this.
    It's been out there for at least 5 years, but ADT continues to price itself out of the market.

    When a client buys the PULSE system, they also are forced to pay about 30-70 more PER MONTH for the monitoring, although of course nobody is viewing what you see on your cameras. (EXCEPT HACKERS!)
    AND GUESS WHAT - UNLESS YOU ASK THEM TO ADD IT TO THE CONTRACT, YOU DON"T EVEN OWN YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT YOU JUST PAID THOUSANDS FOR! Adt says all equipment belongs to them!
    (Yes, it IS possible for hackers to hack in and see anything your cameras see, but this is rarely disclosed.)

    One of these days it will be revealed that adt authorized dealers have installed smoke detectors without connecting them to the monitoring station. They do this because the smoke detector is part of the basic package, but the lowest monthly fee is 29.95, or 34.95 with smoke/fire added. To keep the rate low they do this but now the client has NO SMOKE / FIRE MONITORING, and they don't even know it.

    In some areas, I found 25% who had smoke detectors but only burglary on their monitoring agreement. (SMOKE/FIRE WAS NOT INCLUDED!!! - CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?????) So, I told the legal dept about this.
    But what did they do about it? NOTHING. Clearly they are waiting for a death / lawsuit.
    That is why I left. Because I knew they didn't really care about their clients at all. It's all about the money.

    People are killed in accidents trying to get to appointments on time and you never hear about that either. Or while trying to call in a sale, which can take up to 1 hour, since their telephone operators are incompetent too!

    Sell your stock and quit before you're eliminated. Current mindset is responsible for the downward spiral, so it's a TEAR DOWN / REBUILD!

    Pros

    Most of the employees are really great people that would be willing to help you out if they like you. The compensation is good if you make a lot sales. Fair expectations with sales goals. Good benefits. Leads given by the company. Flexibility is the best ever.

    Cons

    Management, operations, and overall structure of the company is unorganized and unsupportive almost all of the time. Commission structure is severely flawed and only benefits the company and not its employees. Company day-to-day expectations are unrealistic and you are expected to work six days a week and if necessary seven days if month is a slow sales month. You are expected to give your personal phone number and be ready to answer any client calling you at any given moment of the day or night. There is no residual payment for the recurring service that you are providing. Your gasoline reimbursement that they promise is a mileage reimbursement of somewhere under 17 cents a gallon. Your expenses reimbursements cap at $99 a month which is well under what you will be spending for the company. Company issued attire must be bought or "earned" with sales. No one-on-one training on product, services and best practices other than a weekend in an out of state training seminar. Every customer is just a number to the company as are their employees.

    its a job until they drain you of your dignity

    Cons

    i worked here for a couple years and it was a living hell! the turn over rate is crazy and they are posted in the huffington post as one of the top 10 worst places to work for. the management is a bunch of sales tactic using dumbasses anytime you have a problem with a paycheck. they constantly work you to the bone and make you do things out side of your position with zero recognition for hard work. they watch you like a hawk and critique everything you do threatening your job and welfare no matter how hard you work. you would think that a company that has been around for 140 years they would be a little more organized than a dark room full of blind and deaf donkies going the wrong way up a buttered up slide. give it some time before you sell your soul to this company.

    The people were pleasant and respectful.

    Cons

    The technology available to their customers is not available to the employees. No formal product orientation available for newly hired sales people. There is no sense of urgency to get sales people productive which is odd in a commissioned sales environment. Vehicle reimbursement is drastically below national average. Sales people are expected to subsidize between $300-$600 per month for that program.

    Develop a formal training program for product orientation. Make sure your new managers have sensitivity training and have received instructions regarding the training of training new hires. Revamp your vehicle allowance program.

    Pros

    100% commission sales reps so they are ALWAYS hiring!

    Cons

    Just about every decision introduced has made the situation worse. Centralizing all activities has lead to more time wasted, fewer jobs installed, more frustration, more time chasing your tail, sales reps only getting paid when the job closes, techs quitting due to over scheduling and overbearing bosses. But hey, it cut costs so Wall St likes it. Billing is terrible!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you want an experienced sales force that may stick around more than 3 months then implement a salary and stop the insanity of Pay On Close. Give the local office control over the installations again. This is not American Airliines, stop overbooking the techs days! Leaving customers twisting in the wind is not what a (self proclaimed) 'customer obsessed' company does.
