    Good to start out

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Huntsville, AL

ProsGood to start out as an entry level employee to gain experience

ConsLimitations in promotion and increase in pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay good workers, good money and make it worth their while to stay. Employees don't quit the job, they quit the management.

Great people, not a lot of advancement opportunities

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Huntsville, AL

ProsFor the most part the people are great. Willing to help and knowledgeable. There is a good work/live balance and good benefits.

ConsLack of communication from upper management and lack of upward mobility. The management is so flat in some instances that promotion is next to impossible.

Advice to Senior ManagementTalk to your people and don't make it so difficult and uncomfortable when they have to talk with you.

Challenging, frustrating, but overall a good experience.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsLots of leeway in regards to day to day. Ideas are heard. Minimal training for certain jobs.

ConsCafeteria serves the same ole thing over and over every day - no ethnic foods to speak of.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your employees by investing in better training. Remove the 'intro to troubleshooting' training requirement for engineers - it's a waste of time.

    A nice stable work environment.

    Co-Op (Former Employee) Huntsville, AL

ProsMost every employee gets offices, and the campus is very nice. Overall people treated each other very well. There is a wide variety of jobs to move to if you want to change.

ConsIn an interview I asked if a certain type of job was available to co-ops. They said it was. When I went down it was not a single had co-op had a job doing that skill.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy management was very nice and very courteous. I just wished the technologies used where more current. Overall it was good.

Adtran OK - depends what you are working on

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNice facilities, if you are in the Huntsville office (on-site gym and nurse). Traditionally, they were a stable place. Most engineers have own office - generally with a window. Facilities are best I have ever seen and Cafeteria is nice.

ConsDepends on are of work. I found my position one of the most stressful places I have worked - with an overwhelming amount of work and many long hours. But I see many engineers who work much less - depends on how your manager distributes the work and how willing team members are to help.. Don't expect big raises. I have had better benefits elsewhere - 2 weeks vacation for first five years is a bit hard but not uncommon. I can't say I care for Huntsville that much. Deliberation on eliminating individual offices,

Advice to Senior ManagementI would recommend a bottom up management reviews. Allow more Telecomuting - a large percentage of work can be done from home. Go for a flatter organization structure. Allow easier trasfer from one group to another.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
