    Diverse technical work.

    Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsAECOM is a large company with lots of resources. There are interesting jobs all over the globe. Great environment if you are in the right office.

ConsYour experience depends on what office you're in. Some offices are happier than others. As with all large companies, change happens slowly.

Strong engineering firm with a global presence.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsThis is a global engineering firm that deals with all business lines including transportation, water, environment, construction management and other disciplines. This is a chance to work on major projects to make the world a better place. A great place to work on a multitude of projects.

ConsExpect to work long hours in order to meet deliverables and demanding project deadlines. Some projects may require relocation or trips to project sites.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsTeam was great, and compensation - at least for my role - was very competitive.

ConsThings got a bit more stressful when our office went corporate.

    Would work for again

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat environment for those who like to work on unique projects.

ConsLack of communication between upper and lower management.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn how to properly integrate cross functional employee within the corporate matrix. Functional employees tasked to projects are often left behind and skipped over. They report to multiple dotted line managers, but no single manager takes ownership.

    Pretty Pleased

Civil Engineer (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsLove my co-workers, encourage you to ask questions, and management is approachable. The new open concept makes for a more productive work environment.

ConsThe only thing I don't like is how segregated departments are. Most people really don't associate with people not within their immediate sphere of contact. Not sure if this is out of habit, preference or simply not convenient for them.

Advice to Senior ManagementI feel like we could put better efforts forward with our recruiting process in order to bring in higher caliber prospects

Opportunities at the entry and middle levels.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsAs an engineer or technical professional there are opportunities to work on large signature projects and on various disciplines and various offices. The large projects provide exposure to a variety of disciplines and consultants and educational opportunities.

ConsIt takes politicical effort to move above middle mangement. Upper Management is a male fraternity club. Women cannot progress to upper management unless one of the men sponser you.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to the enormous talent that AECOM attracts and give these professionals the opportunity to thrive. Remove the barriers to women and the professionals not part of the old boys network.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
