I have been working at ALDI part-time for more than 3 years

ProsThey have good pay and decent hours. Bosses are really easy to talk to and get along with, good environment.

ConsThe work can be exhausting. Co-workers are awful, everyone is miserable. There is no end time, you work until you're finished.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore than one shift

I'll stick it out for now

Cashier (Current Employee)

I have been working at ALDI full-time for less than a year

ProsPay is decent. I haven't been there long enough for the benefits to kick in yet, but I have heard they are good. It is very busy so the day goes by pretty quickly. The store manager is a great boss and truly cares about his employees.

ConsThe DM is constantly pulling the store manager to work at other locations, so the shift managers are always running things and the majority of them are not exactly pleasant. Gossipy, backstabbing girls working there (am I back in high school??) The training is a joke. After five minutes of watching someone ring, they threw me on register and expected me to ring 40 items a minute. Serious lack of communication. I'm new and still learning things, everyone tells me something different or I don't get told at all. If they had told me mind reading was part of the job, I wouldn't have accepted. I try to figure it out myself and do the best I can then get told I'm doing it wrong. They don't wait to tell me what I'm doing wrong in privacy, they tell me in front of customers as I'm ringing. I'm petite and it is very difficult for me to hoist things over my head in order to get them onto the shelves. Then I get told I'm not putting out the product fast enough. The busiest location in the district and the store is seriously understaffed. I'm afraid to ask questions since the majority of the shift managers are miserable.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more people and see to it that your shift managers are communicating with everyone.

I have been working at ALDI

ProsYOU KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE STORE AND HOW IT RUNS.

ConsYOU KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE STORE AND HOW IT RUNS.. HIGH TURN OVER DUE TO MISCONCEPTION ABOUT CASHIERS JUST SITTING AT THE REG. ITS HARD TO FIND GOOD WORKERS THESE DAYS PEOPLE JUST THINK THEY CAN COME IN AND MAKE GOOD MONEY AND JUST SIT ALL DAY NOPE NOT AT ALDI YOU WORK.. YOU WORK HARD..

Advice to Senior ManagementI would suggest that Aldi needs a more thorough training program for the cashiers. Also, a district trainer would be efficient for the company. This would help ensure thorough training for the stores and the paperwork it entails.
