Current Employee - Director in Chattahoochee, FL

I have been working at ARAMARK full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Compensation, good benefits for salaried people.

    Cons

They only care about the bottom line. They care nothing for the people who do the work in the trenches. I put up with racial and homophobic remarks often and called the companies hotline and nothing was done. They protect who they like at the expense of the customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a hard look at HR and find the rotten things that are covered up.

Hostile work enviiornment. Managment is so far removed from reality. Employees are not even numbers.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Absolutly no Pros regarding any aspect of this company

    Cons

Where to start? Benefits are lacking and expensive, for non exempt employees. Employees are treated with disrespect and with hostility. Management often pits the employee against the customer, setting the employee up for failure and possible termination. NOTHING is confidential. This company is a human resource nightmare. They will and have faced law suits for various HR, breaches. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Run don't walk away from any open positions at this sorry excuse for a corporation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your heads out of your corner offices in Philidelphia and get involved with what your site managment teams are doing to your "brand" and their employees.

Former Employee - Audio-Visual Technician in Overland Park, KS

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free lunch, and the food was good.
My co-workers were a fine bunch of folks, always willing to help each other.

    Cons

Rigid, inefficient management. Employees were micro-managed and mistrusted, work was not delegated well. AV technicians were denied access to tool and supply closet, making it quite difficult to do the job. Manager was constantly in conflict with others in department and not well-regarded by customers.
    Absolutely no overtime.
Raises were minimal, 401(k) matching very stingy, benefits were cut drastically in 2014.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your people. Work with them, be open to ideas. Saying "no" to everything is a morale-killer.

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Convenient location on campus. That's it. And free food, which was allowed by management, yet hurting food costs.

    Cons

Management was corrupt, unhygienic, unintelligent, and frequently served alcohol to minors. Any missteps brought to attention of upper management was quickly smoothed over with zero repercussions.

    Pros

Former Employee - Catering Manager in Minneapolis, MN

I worked at ARAMARK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Peers and client were typically wonderful. Opportunities to make money are huge.

    Cons

Upper management misleads managers concerning available labor, equipment and support. Employees on all levels quit or were fired often. I was the 3rd catering manager in less than a year. I am one of many that received empty promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you would provide quality equipment and adequate labor, any manager with 5 years experience could run a unit successfully.

Why wouldn't you? An ethical manager will leave without that support.
