I have been working at ARC Document Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not too many these days....very disappointing since we were on the right track as a sales team over the last couple of years.

    Cons

Unbelievable, we no longer have a head of sales and the Execs who are oPs people think micro-managing will be the magic formula to sales growth. Unfortunately the execs do not understand sales people and now there is a lot of fear.

    Advice to Management

So much needs to be done. People in the trenches are doing the best they can with what we have to work with. Lots of confusion about the direction of the company now.

I have been working at ARC Document Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Lots of turnover so you get to always meet new people - They always find new and innovative ways to make my job unnecessarily more difficult - Coworkers are great

    Cons

    - Micromanaged - Engineers built our newest product in a bubble (probably India) and released it incomplete and 3 years too late compared to our competition. Then they wonder why the sales team can't sell it - No training

    Advice to Management

In all my years, I don't think I have ever seen anything more dysfunctional. We are actually pretty good at what we do. Stop getting in our way. Stop changing the focus of the company every week. Fire the director of technology and hire someone that has actually released a single decent product in the last 5 years. Show your employees some respect or they will continue to leave.

I have been working at ARC Document Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great group of people and great software.

    Cons

Terrible accounting practices and lack of training of employees.

    Advice to Management

When you see that one department has a large turnover rate usually it is time to look at the person who is running the department. They are the problem not the people leaving.

I have been working at ARC Document Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Flexible scheduling when needed.

    Cons

Apparently after being told for seven years there is "no budget" for salary increases, ARC executives have rewarded themselves for massive layoffs and downscaling of operations (which has nearly doubled the workload for the remaining employees) with multi-million dollar salaries, and in June rewarded themselves again with bonuses of 150% of their salaries. Good to know SOMEONE is getting a reward for all that hard work

    Advice to Management

Get your financials in order, and sell to a company that looks at their employees as an asset, not a liability. And yes, we have been told by management, that the employees are the biggest liability the company has.

    Pros

great solutions in technology for the construction industry.

    Cons

Most disorganized publicly traded company I have ever encountered. Bounced checks and getting paid incorrectly resulting in having to pay them back.

    Advice to Management

Have an orginized easier system for how you show evidence of sales per month. After working hard you shouldn't have to beg for your results. It was extremely difficult to see what I had sold for the month.

I worked at ARC Document Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

-Production employees work hard to ensure customer satisfaction -Service center managers are very understanding of personal situations -Very laid-back facility atmosphere

    Cons

-Sales does not understand that you need to make a profit to pay employees, pay bills, and buy supplies and equipment. Unfortunately, most of upper management is made of sales people -The construction industry, which is the largest customer base, doesn't plan ahead very well, so there are a lot of rush and/or overnight work at the last minute. Architects and Engineers are the usual suspects

    Advice to Management

Find ways to be more profitable

    Pros

Experienced local teams, wide breadth of products, good balance of work/life.

    Cons

Upper management is disconnected from the customer base. New push for unexperienced sales reps to replace longer termed experienced reps. Commission structure is gimmick based and nearly impossible to reach every bucket. Too much disconnect between teams, product groups and executive level

    Advice to Management

Create an actual training program. Replace short sighted execs. Bring in more diverse executive team

I worked at ARC Document Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

ARC's location is fantastic. Close to Metro, shopping and central to the Washington DC area. The salaries are competitive and you can develop skillsets that you may not have come to the company with......this is its most valuable asset.

    Cons

You know the saying, you don't know what you have until its gone? Well who knew that it was the past CEO Mr. Collins who truly was the great pioneer and innovator which moved the company leaps and bounds into the future. The current CEO was very promising and exciting when he took the helm; however, he has turned a blind eye to the mischief and incompetence of his Leadership Team. Unfortunately, I was involuntarily separated from the company, but I do not write this review as someone who is disgruntled. I've moved on to doing something I really enjoy- so no malice in my review. I write this review to share my experience through my prism of an employee who contributed a lot and also learned a tremendous amount during my tenure at ARC. Unfortunately, the Leadership Team was allowed to create a very toxic envirnoment which destroyed the very essence of the Corporate Values that employees were encourage to live and work by. This is shameful, as the company spent a lot of money and time to incorporate them in its everyday. This makes me question the CEO/President's leadership abilities- he's a smart man, so why allow this behavior to exist? Only he can answer that question. It is a shame, as ARC, for what its worth, loses its ablility to truly attract new and talented potential employees.

    Advice to Management

Be real with yourself and read these reviews and ask yourself why such negativity. If you are true to yourself, you will see mischief and incompetence (lack of soft people skills, emotional intelligence, etc.) running rampant amongst your leadership team. Don't let these folks ruin your legacy- take action now!
