Pros – overtime, flexi hours, staff canteen, holiday pay

Cons – little direction from management. poor morale

Advice to Senior Management – improve stock control

Current Employee – been working at ASDA

Pros – The colleagues...great bunch of people. Majority of people genuinly get on, and i've met some great friends there. We have a laugh, sometimes at the customers expense, go out etc. Very social place to work

Cons – The managers are fussy and overly interfering. They tend to wander around looking self important, complain when nothing gets done, whilst not actually doing anything to make sure colleagues have what they need to get things done.

Pay could be better

Advice to Senior Management – Instead of hiring those people who think might best intimidate or annoy people into doing as they're told, hire some managers with actual leadership or people skills. I find people work best when they're actually doing their job, not explaining to the boss what they'd be doing right that minute if the boss hadn't interrupted them

Pros – easily to get, relatively high pay , considering that it requires no skills, flexible time, little bonuses ,
discount card for goods

Cons – nihgt time work means very litle of proper life, sometimes pushed by management , and not been equally treated like others

Advice to Senior Management – nothing has changed since i have worked there, its a common job, i used to work for walmart in us everytinh there was bit better

Pros – working nights, stacking shelves, you get left alone for most of the night, so you can go at your own pace, pretty much.
10% discount on everything, doesn't sound much, but we all have to eat, so the savings soon add up. Staff are friendly there, we're all in the same boat, it's not the greatest job in the world, we know that, but at least it's a jon, right. Oh, we're first to find the bargains in the store, soon as any promotion on food prices comes up, we know about it! And thursday and friday nights, when we're open 24 hours, and the young ladies come in for munchies or more alcohol after the pubs/clubs have shut brighten up our night!

Cons – Boring, repetitvie job, stacking shelves, brain-dead work, and nights are killer's, sometimes, particularly when it's busy, with no support from Management. Talking of Management, some are ok, and work hard, but some just turn up, sit in the office all night, then walk around an hour before the end of your shift to try to get everyone to hurry up and tidy up. We have stupid huddles(10 minute information meetings) every night, in front of the shoppers(great idea, that!) where the Management tell us about sales, what departments are up/down from previous year, like we care, we just wannt to get the job done, and go home.

Advice to Senior Management – We have two types of workers at Asda, the hard-workers, and the people who just turn up and do the minimum amout of work they can get away with, problem is, Senior Management are always on the backs of the hard-workers to work even harder, because they know they will, whilst they leave the slackers alone, out of fear of the slacker leaving and getting another job. Management, get some balls, seperate the wheat from the chaff, and sort it out. And no, we don't want to smile all the f**king time, this is work, not some game, that some Management think it is, sometimes they act like Redcoats at a Butlins Holiday camp.
