    Pros

Flexible hours, understood university and travel commitments, altered my contract as and when I needed it changing, never had any problems with pay, diverse range of colleagues, discount card is a bonus, colleagues all friendly - lots of work nights out.

    Cons

Working on tills can be boring but it's the same in any supermarket I guess, there wasn't enough space to have my own locker which was annoying but everybody was very trustworthy so not too much of a big issue.

    Pros

    Good team spirit
    Plenty of staff
    Dealing with customers
    Team nights out
    Good attitude to work
Advice and help provided when necessary
    Easy to talk to management

    Cons

At times when I was under pressure with university work, I found it difficult to receive time off. Although it was short notice, and I understand that, I felt there could have been a bit more understanding with regards my exams/dissertation deadlines.

    Advice to Management

Try to understand students a bit better

  8. Decent supermarket to work for.

    I worked at ASDA

    Pros

Good seasonal job to help with uni student living costs. Flexible hours. Fairly good pay compared to other retail stores. Most colleagues and managers are very friendly and approachable.

    Cons

Management was weak in some areas. Progression is not easy. Section leaders are paid only a fraction more than junior colleagues and are expected to do the same work and the same hours as mamagers, including overtime.

    Advice to Management

Improve chances of progression. Although improvements may have been made since I left.

    Pros

A lot of job freedom and have some degree of responsibility, very healthy and happy culture, amazing colleagues and the job itself is surprisingly enjoyable!

    Cons

Very disorganised, career progression prospects are small with poor pay when compared to competitors, contracts are somewhat unfair for example, I work 20 hours a week yet my contract only says 8, meaning that I get less pay for holidays etc

    Advice to Management

Give fair contracts to entry level employers and communicate more with other department leaders

    Pros

Really look forward to going to work as all of the employees are friendly and I'm kept busy so the time goes quickly.

    Cons

Having to deal with any difficult customers or when the shop gets busy as you have to try and quicken how you work but still provide excellent customer satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps do more charity events as these are really fun. Have a website so we can check when our shifts are.
