I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Best pay for working retail.

    Cons

Commission decreases every year and the company keeps increasing sales goals which make it impossible to achieve your goals for the month.

    Pros

Pay is decent but not great.

    Cons

Micromanagement. In the extreme. You are on camera 24-7. Asm's looking for ways to harass and coach you. Point system is ridiculous. Uneducated maniacs running the place. Horrible hours no work life balance. Constant pressure to not disclose and over sell the customer.

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I received a paycheck on time.

    Cons

Management runs all and every promotion based on their private and out of office relationships and friendships regardless if the person is competent or not. The money does not cover the amount of work that is required of you and unless you are a field tech, all Union contracts are broken on a daily basis.

Also, if you are a like employee and leave on your own accord and to the dismay of management, then you are immediately classified as non rehirable for no valid reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that you have lost your best employes due to your own inability to manage and money - there is absolutely no other reason.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The company benefits are good.

    Cons

There is no such thing as work life balance. It's hard to get out of certain departments. They care more about the numbers than the person. No loyalty what so ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with respect and maybe they will put more of an effort to work for you.

    Pros

50% off your bill and an hour lunch break.... And that's it folks. The discount doesn't even seem that great for how insulting management is to employees daily!

    Cons

It's one thing to have customer's curse and scream because prior reps mess up customer's bills and accounts with very little we can actually do to fix such misinformation; but it is one thing to be threatened and micro managed to the point where you will be in mortal fear for your job every minute of every day. It's a toxic environment. MANAGEMENT IS AGAINST EVERYONE THAT IS NOT ONE OF THE FEW FAVORITES. UNION IS FRIENDS WITH MANAGEMENT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gut the management of this place...Top to bottom.

I worked at AT&T (more than 8 years)

    Pros

You have a job Temporarily! I have never heard or seen anyone stay 20-30 years on mobility side ever! If so they are high level not retail.

    Cons

Dealing with some uppity hood people who never made money get a little and treat people like dirt. Like they make millions pathetic is what it is and you better be careful and fear God it could be gone messing with Att

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find some who have morals and values #1 and good understanding and the ability to make good decisions, not liars, have bad attitudes. These must be the qualities learned in management training because I have seen it will almost all managers I have worked under. They treat the people who making them commission like we are low instead motivate workers as a team close sales and then also they even treat customers strange. If some of those manager would have gotting me as the customer they would not be there any longer period.they always want to to swindle a customer into something it's good for number at that time but that's a charge back you not going to win over a small price to pay of the restocking fee you thought would be a discouraging tool . Main advice for management is because of what you make and what you think you are in life because of Att it can change at any moment and God has the final say so be humble cause it can all fall down. You all are not above God he is looking at you and what you do. Att does not care about there employees they will fire you for anything for real I have seen it for almost 9 years.

    Pros

    worked with some wonderful people

    Cons

Dog eat dog corporate world. Underhanded politics, no truth in business practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a long hard look at the behavior of your directors who are taking payoffs, running like their own personal playground with no morals, truth or consequence to their actions. Payoffs are the flavor of the days.

    I worked at AT&T

    Pros

None really, huge disappointment to work there.

    Cons

Software development teams are paid way below market value. The company works as if it is still a telecom company and works as if you are working for the govt. Lots of red tape, lots of people in charge that don't understand how modern technology works. Lots of offshoring of resources. Employees aren't important, the almighty dollar is and employees who are not union suffer because of it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Joint the 21st century. Don't penalize employees that speak up. Pay people market value. Treat all employees like they work for a powerful union instead of penalizing those that have no union.

    Pros

Great benefits. Best pay you'll get without a degree. Financially stable company.

    Cons

Unrealistic sales goals if you're in a shaky wired market. Frat house attitude. inappropriate sales floor contact goes unpunished as employees are obvious favorites. Very Political company. Requires a lot of sucking up if you want to get anywhere. Do not reward good sales people. pay structure encourages complacency and laziness. overall unpleasant workplace.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits and that is one of the reasons why i wanted to work for that company.

    Cons

The one on one in your face daily. The call center can get out of hand. Some of things they require of the reps are not realistic. They do care for their employees nor the customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I feel the call center in Memphis needs more professional people as managers. They are sending all of the reps to get mental health because they are not caring and harassing the reps all day.
