I have been working at AT&T

    Pros

Good people, fun place to work until management ruins it.

    Cons

Job is never secure. They can eliminate your job at any time, any day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't use people. Treat everyone as valuable assets, unless performance isn't deserving.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The money is very good. With a high school degree you can be making 50k plus immidiatly. The benefits are as good, great for family's. You receive a very high end phone immidiatly with unlimited everything for FREE!!! considered legitimate sales experience that will carry over into future employment.

    Cons

Very stressful environment between management pushing new products, and your own sales goals to keep in mind. It can be very cut throat between fellow sales associates. Possibly the worst aspect is the "sell, sell, sell" attitude encouraged by management that forces customers to always be on guard. Customers come in expecting a fight, if there is a billing issue or reception issue they do not care that there is almost nothing you at the store can do about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more of a"team" effort. It is difficult to help other team members or when you have your own quotas to hit, but more support is needed to create a better environment for both employees and customers.

I have been working at AT&T

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, discounts on services and many other companies, good time off allotment, great products

    Cons

Extremely hostile environment, the managers are forced to create actions plans the require the sales staff to mention a certain thing at a very specific time in the sales process and of the plan isn't followed they are supposed to document and discpline. This wouldn't be an issue if it weren't including multiple items all at very specific times which are designed for the employee to fail. Managers are told it is either the seller or them that will be held accountable. Managers are required to pop in on customer interactions to quiz the customer on what the seller offered and if anything is not mentioned by the customer accountability occurs for the seller.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees at AT&T get the chance to sell truly exciting products but all the fun is taken out by all the threats of being fired all the time. Consider changing your current managing by fear practice
