    I worked at AT&T

    Pros

Compensation, Benefits, Union, Job Security, Work Cell Phone and discounts on your personal plan, Advancement

    Cons

Schedule is seniority base so expect to work here a long time before getting good hours. It would be fair to say for the first year you could be working nearly every sat and Sunday especially if you're part time.
Every year that I worked there the overall commission you could make decreased and the goals increased but still compared to other jobs it still pays pretty well especially when considering they don't require much previous experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help employees with their work/ life balance the best you can, the wireless industry is very competitive so everyone is under a lot of pressure but you cannot let it rule you or your employees lives.

    Pros

Everyday is different which is a good thing because it kept most people on their toes. once you hit your goal every month promotions will come to you.

    Cons

hard to have a life outside of work when you are in the store all the times and when your not your still getting calls from your boss on why your numbers aren't up to par for the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you continue to hit your numbers and goals moving up is fairly easy in the company.

    Pros

They offer competitive pay, great benefits, and is a fun industry to be involved with. There is plenty of room for growth, and plenty of good people that are willing to help you advance your career.

    Cons

The expectations are very high and ever increasing. The work life balance is lacking.
The pay could be better considering the work load and level of expectations.

    I worked at AT&T

    Pros

The people are great. The company trains and develops talented people. The support for job growth is wonderful. Loved the technology

    Cons

The work life balance was difficult with it being a retail position. The company is pro union and works with the CWA to create a contract that fits the needs of all parties.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is run by the sales employees not the managers who think they are the most vital cog in the engine. Listen more to the RSC and HSC when it comes to sales, training and support needed

I have been working at AT&T

    Pros

AT&T helped me grow as a person with good pay, paid time off and 401. There is a constant amount of training to keep you fully up on the latest in consumer tech. Company provided devices are great to learn on. The company is transitioning to a leadership position in the internet of things and you'll see quite a few cool things working there.

    Cons

The hours are long, especially for the frontlines. Turnover can create interesting challenges in small stores. So many things to sell with new product launches can get overwhelming. It's difficult to get promoted without making Summit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Hyper focus on new products while also maintaining a constant growth of other products categories can be tiring. It can be difficult to bridge what management wants and what the customer wants.

    Pros

Being on the front lines of getting the latest technology to consumers, is very exciting.
    Great Benefits
Rewards the those who work hard and truly want to grow in their career.

    Cons

None really. But, as with most jobs, if you let yourself get complacent certain parts of the job can get overwhelming. Sales, for example.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Specialized groups allowed to focus on areas of expertise. Plenty of training opportunities. Projects and steady-state operations are evenly distributed and rarely require excessive overtime to complete.

    Cons

Military-like chain-of-command. Endless time tracking and check-in mechanisms. Social media sites not authorized. Uneven post-merger atmosphere favors southern entities over other regions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop relying on your own press for confirmation that the strategic plan is sound. The prestige purchased with the AT&T brand will eventually diminish and you will be forced to compete positively or diminish with it.
