Commission based quotas become impossible to acheive

    Sales (Current Employee) Newton, NC

ProsExcellent group of people to work for and with in my particular office. Excellent benefits package and group outings.

ConsVery secretive company, the everyday employees never have a clue whats going on above them. Roles have changed multiple times with little or no warning. Commission based quotas are increased every month if you have a successful month to ensure you never hit 100% of bonus quota. We often do not receive monthly sales quotas until after the 20th of the month.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open with employees. Set an aggressive but achievable monthly sales quota.

    Lacking best practices

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsGreat office and location. All amenities needed for comfort and tech culture.

ConsI was constantly searching for structure around best practices. It was a struggle to find consistency in this area.

Advice to Senior ManagementPost-ipo; one would think best practices would be in place. Maybe it's changed since I left?

Nice team, nice colleagues, but management is terrible

Software Engineer (Former Employee) Darmstadt (Germany)

ProsWorking in the team was very good. Everyone is ready to help and I didn't feel as a new person at all.

ConsTo many discussions, not clear what the targets are, on the meeting often comes managers without basic overview of the product. I had feeling that managers are fighting for some good career positions but not helping to get company goes better.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring Management and Development together. Create real teams and go forward with clear ideas.

Top technology, no strategy, lots of politics

Director - Online Marketing (Current Employee) Prague (Czech Republic)

ProsGreat workplace, very open minded atmosphere among colleagues, truly international environment.

ConsNo strategy, focus only on quick wins, changing the direction every 3-6 months. Lots of inter-departmental politics and landgrabbing. Those who become close friends with top management members outside, then easily win at the office, which leads to overstaffing in some areas where it§s not necessarily needed and understaffing where there's constant overworked staff. Top management is hiding information which is shared only when publicly announced, which creates hectic last-minute "firedrills". Top management with horrible people management skills (not managing at all).

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust middle management and share information, manage your direct reports and give feedback regularly, not once or twice a year!

    Great experience with international company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Prague (Czech Republic)

Pros- great salary one of the best in industry...
    - great benefits, definitely above standard...free mobile, holiday contribution, free company car (based on Hay levels), retirement plan, ..just few to mention
    - great office location with above standard service for employees in Prague, Czech rep.
    - great products and good brand recognition around the world, looking great on your CV

Cons- politics and fights between departments regarding strategies, resources, which are not based on real needs or external conditions but fights based on bad personal relationships among Top management
    - big difference in culture and behavior between native English speaking employees and Czech speaking employees which then brings so many confusing situations
    - in Sales department it was lots of yelling and mismanagement, lots of Senior Managers hired with no people management skills

Advice to Senior Management- please make a educational plan for middle management not just employees (including VP level) in order to improve - management of their own people
    - please create a program in order to get western and eastern employees together and make cooperation more effective

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
