    Pros

-The people who work here are amazing
    -Opportunity to travel
    -Decent pay coming in
    -Fun atmosphere
    -Room to grow

    Cons

    -Needs more structure
-You start on contract with no benefits and just get renewed with no promise of being permanent after set time
-Pay doesn't go up from when you start, it seems to be stuck at one level with no increases despite reviews (team wide)
-Pay has not even increased for inflation so every year we actually make less and less and especially as minimum wage goes up

    Advice to Management

-Review our compensation procedures, we start off decent but after 2-3 years in a company and after reviews no one gets a pay increase and no increase for inflation either.

    Pros

Flexibility, Ability to work from home if need be, Ability to learn and work without micromanagement. Benefits are great and they do take care of their employees.

    Cons

Workflow is entirely to dynamic. This causes confusion in regards to deadlines, or what you are supposed to be working on. This makes things at times, more stressful than they need to be.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with tasks set, see projects through to completion, focus more on quality than new features. Not allowing projects to run to completion devalues the work that the engineers do.

    Pros

Like I mentioned before, there is a great open office converted from an old warehouse with brick interior and exterior.
    Catered lunch
    Accessible and passionate executives

    Cons

Constant turnover, which is normal considering the Bay Area market.

    Pros

The office relocated from Orlando, FL to Chelmsford, MA so I don't know if these still hold true: Excellent benefits, bonuses (depending on department), casual work environment, free software

    Cons

They seem to relocate the office every time someone new is hired for the top position at the North American office. (every 1 to 2 years) It would make more sense for the person hired to relocate than for that person to move the office closer to him. Or maybe they could hire someone that is local to the current office - gee that's an idea.

    Advice to Management

Moving the office often makes the company look unstable and it's not right to force your employees to resign at a time when good jobs are so hard to find. For the sake of the current employees, I hope the company is going to keep the current office open for a long time so they don't get screwed like so many others did.

    Pros

Opportunity to solve challenging technical problems (high traffic services), great team, good benefits, very good carreer opportunities

    Cons

Too much politics to fully enjoy the work (mainly cross departments), architecture not fully under control of technical people (business picking the tools by marketing materials without getting feedback from technical people)

    Advice to Management

Trust the team and architects with picking the right tools and technologies, and guide them by giving business requirements and SLAs. Focus on eliminating the politics from business departments. Approve architecture strategy for at least 2-3 years and make it company public.

    Pros

Great people, generous and kind. Exciting work.

    Cons

Many departments have immature processes and it can be difficult to get some normal things accomplished without involving a number of people to help you.

    Advice to Management

Continue to emphasize collaboration and inter-departmental fusion.

    Pros

    - people (colleagues)
    - career opportunities
    - money
    - space for realising own ideas
    - some of the products

    Cons

    - bureaucracy
    - some people from senior management
    - work under pressure
    - business strategy oriented to sell sell sell

    Advice to Management

Think more from long-term perspective, stop activities decreasing AVG reputation and respect.
Hire more developers and testers - we have higher potential, but not enough resources.
Make the development unit and people there (including all the stakeholders) as one team, one family.

    Pros

Great people in my team, very interesting work, good salary and lot of benefits, team building actions like grill parties, burcak and sport activities.

    Cons

Management is sleeping almost whole year and 2 months before release wants new features asap. Bonuses are not paid in full amount.

    Advice to Management

Better planning of new features for future releases. When you promise to talk about some decision, please do this (Omelka days on Q2 Results). Please, do not promise to pay full bonuses when hiring new employer.

    Pros

Good benefits package and salary; structured reviews and performance feedback. There is lot's of room for advancement in a fast paced environment if you have the drive to excel. Lot's of company social events such as barbecues etc.

    Cons

The company is in a transition and acquisition phase and a lot of restructuring is currently occurring.

    Advice to Management

Some sort of employee recognition program would be nice so that employee's are compensated for working above and beyond.
