Management and organization is not the best for learning and professional women

    Financial Advisor (Former Employee)
    Honolulu, HI

ProsIf you like to be completely on your own and have zero guidance or help, this is the place.

ConsNo training, too much depends on local branch managers, if you luck out to have a good one, it's good, I wasn't that lucky. The management is very pushy about specific products, if you don't meet certain quotas on products they promote, you can lose your job. There was virtually no guidance for a newbie in the business like me.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would advise to pay more attention to new people and help out to learn more about products and business rather than pushing people to sell things they have no idea about.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Will take years to become successful unless you have a significant book to begin with.

    Financial Professional (Current Employee)
    Smithfield, NC

ProsTechnology getting better. Decent wholesaler access.

ConsManagement support is overall poor.No marketing at all. Expenses are high.No help unless you are producing early.Experienced sales force is disengaged with building new business.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop recruiting. Get your experienced sales force to become more willing to grow and get them to recruit for you.

    Deceitful

    Financial Advisor (Former Employee)

ProsThe people are great, and the flexible schedule is nice.

ConsAll of the compensation is very ambiguous. Definitely favors the firm, heavily. After I started, the "salary" that was pushed and sold as an option during the interview process, wasn't as advertised.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more transparent during the interview process.

Don't work here as an advisor!

    Financial Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsWas lucky to have a senior Advisor take me under their wing otherwise I would have moved on day 1. Get licensed and move onto another company where there is growth potential.

ConsNot a place to learn and grow. Management is only concerned about generating business not your success with the company.

Only for financial professionals who want to make this their lifelong career

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

Pros-My team had good sales training
-Opportunity to make a lot of money, if you work hard enough or get lucky

Cons-Experience at the company can vary widely based on which team you're on
-Office, desks, cubicles, bathrooms are pretty beat up
-Risky pay structure, you risk having to pay back money made if your sale doesn't stick
    -Ambiguous organizational structure

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Decent Products - Terrible Management/Business Practices

    Financial Advisor (Former Employee)
    Woodbridge, NJ

ProsThey train you quite a bit on the axa annuity and life insurance products. They are not so apt to train you in asset management (less revenue producing). They are good at ensuring management makes as much money from you as possible before you struggle and fall out of the business.

ConsThey are a greedy company. Management is all about their bottom line, not about producing strong all around producers. They will make you target your family as opposed to setting up a support structure around external sources. THEY WILL HOUND YOU AFTER YOU LEAVE THE COMPANY FOR ANY PAYMENT FOR POLICIES LAPSED EVEN 4 YEARS AFTER I LEFT THE COMPANY. I am not a person who would have someone buy a policy to drop it right after I left the company, but they have had these experiences in the past. BE AWARE - THEY WILL SEND LAWYERS AFTER YOU REGARDLESS OF YOUR TIME AWAY FROM THE COMPANY. I CANNOT RETAIN CLIENTS WHEN I NO LONGER WORK FOR THE COMPANY! It is the company's responsibility to retain clients after their costs and business practices force you out of the business.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop harrassing ex-employees to pay for the inability of your teams to stop attrition. The most important thing for business is a positive word of mouth. Clearly, that is not the thought process running through the minds of management. Very upsetting, and frustrating as someone who came in out of college and thought I was working for a company that cared...

Better off coming here if you are already experienced

    Financial Advisor (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsGreat for self starters and you get sponsored for your series 7, 66, and life and health giving you the ability to do everything from insurance to managed money.

ConsManagement gets the most comp on Vul's and Va's so the training is specifically geared to those products and services if you want to call it training at all.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to provide more and better training to new reps

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
