    Pros

Great Benefits, good people for the most part, they try hard to stay current.

    Cons

They are not willing to pay revenue share fees to the broker dealers therefore, you really do not have carte blanche when calling on advisors. It is like cold calling advisors and most of them have been burned by the 401(k) product and the service model in the past making a stressful job more stressful. The internal desk management is old fashion and inexperienced at selling the product. The external wholesalers are made up of a bunch of former Paychex wholesalers. Some of them have top-tier experience. Most of the externals have been with the company less than2 years, most have been hired this year. This team has turned over numerous times in the last 4 years, no continuity what-so-ever. There is no relationship management nor key account team for 401(k). The biggest selling agreements they have signed in the last few years are Primerica, Farmers Insurance and Allstate. These advisors do not know how to sell plans so as a wholesaler you are mandated to do everything for these advisors. Management promises the world and expects the wholesalers to deliver. Not a place to make money as an external or internal wholesaler. They really have no respect for the internals and this is an experienced team. Hardly any room for growth the jobs go to outsiders and people who are willing to yes management to death.

    Advice to Management

Put your hand in your pocket and pay a rev share fee. Stop promoting non-skilled people who did not perform in their last role to sales management roles. Get rid of the people who are HR nightmares meaning the old school Equitable people who think they can say what they please to their employees. Teach them to be mutually respectful or manage them out. Stop ignoring inappropriate behavior. Upper management, If you want to play in the game, play big or go home, you are in the bush league. Many people depend on the success of this area, you don't seem to care you will still have a job when this circus folds up the tents. The CEO is great but really does not have a handle on this disaster area of a division.

    I worked at AXA

    Pros

You control your income and your schedule.

    Cons

If you are new to the business, you will most likely have to do it on your own. Little support from mentors or management.

    Advice to Management

Producers should produce. Managers should mentor and manage...and the pay structure must reflect that. Reward producers for producing and reward management when they bring on AND retain producers.

    Pros

Great people to work with... but, unless you have access to prospects ready to sign up quickly, you can not get off the ground.

    Cons

There is no security at AXA. You build a book and miss a sales quota, you're out!

    Advice to Management

Discontinue Commission structure and implement Paid Salaries. A more developed and dedicated, high quality adviser group would be the result. Then again, as I was told... < I know nothing>. It's gonna get worse.

    Pros

Access to many different products to sell to clients

    Cons

Management is terrible, and they keep a lot from you during the interview. At the end of the day, this job is what you make of it. Once you learn they can't fire you if you hit your quotas, you can really starting doing things on our own. Some managers will call you late at night and will micro manage.

    Pros

AXA had good benefits when I worked there. In fact, that's pretty much the only reason I stayed. I loved the holidays off and the vacation time. The medical benefits were pretty good also.

    Cons

AXA is an okay place to work if you're just looking for employment but not if you're looking for advancement. The company trains and promotes only those employees whom they like. AXA is BIG on favoritism. As long as you kiss up to the managers you'll get what you want; but don't expect hard work, integrity and character to benefit you in any way, shape or form. I deeply regret having wasted so many years with the company. I was overworked and underpaid the entire time I was employed, but I stayed a/c the benefits and in hopes things would improve...which they never did. Even though I always reported to work on time, put in overtime when asked with minimal complaining, did my job well with no salary increase worth mentioning, I was set up by my manager and team leader so that I could be terminated because of my age....I'm approaching retirement. They couldn't find any fault in my performance so they had to fabricate something.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so biased in your decisions when it comes to promotions and terminations. You have let go valuable employees just because they were at or nearing retirement age. You'd rather keep young, trifling, money hungry employees that are always goofing off and couldn't care less about the future of the company and terminate hard working, committed employees because they're older or you just don't like them. You need to learn to prioritize and do what's best for the company. It's hard working, dedicated employees that have made the company what it is today.

    Pros

The people are great, because we're all in the same boat. We all hate our jobs, so there's plenty of people to sympathize with.

    Cons

Not organized. No one ever knew what they were doing, and there was no one to turn to when you needed clear direction.

    Advice to Management

Management had clear favorites, and those were the people given the most attention and were always the ones given new projects and opportunities.

    Pros

Generous vacation, bonus and great coworkers.

    Cons

Company is going through a transition. Management doesn't work to retain talent and dismisses employee complaints. People who have been with the Company 10+ years are leaving at an alarming rate.

    Advice to Management

Treat workers like adults. Appreciate the people that are left. Listen to our complaints.
