I worked at AXA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity for self motivated advisor.

    Cons

Lacks a robust training program and is a sink or swim environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have the managers focus solely on the advisors. They are too split between managing and making their own sales goals.

I have been working at AXA

    Pros

Phenomenal benefits and job security. Even in a depression, AXA could afford to maintain its employees.

    Cons

No feasible opportunity for development; so it stunts progres. decisions tend not to be made with the employee in mind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

none; i make a habit of not giving advice where it wouldn't be received.

I have been working at AXA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Freedom to come and go as you please.

    Cons

Worked in public schools at a time when there is layoffs and no new hires. Supposed Orphan Lists to work to make money and build book of business is not as prosperous as it was made to be. The will put anyone in management. Has one of the lowest comp rates in industry and there are fees for everything including using social media.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The 403b market is dead. Need to find ways of helping new advisors et and retain business. Hire and pay dedicated managers like other firms. Having branch managers that's are also advisors does not help anone.

I worked at AXA as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Flexible scheduling
    - My boss was great
    - VP in charge was highly skilled. Could learn a lot from him.

    Cons

    - Most advisors in training created a fraternity-type office culture. Monday morning: could hear them talking about their latest conquests using profane language.
    - A certain amount of sexual flirtation going on with the female secretary (which she seemed to enjoy)
    - All in all, office culture was the worst aspect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Might be nice to clean up office culture a bit.

I have been working at AXA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    OK Salary, co workers pleasant,

    Cons

New department (4 years old) is in state of total confusion, poor or no training on key systems needed to perform job, performance measurements based on faulty data. Position is NOT as what was described.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better, specific training. Currently more like a "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" process.
