I have been working at AXA full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Culture, Benefits, work-life balance, There are opportunities to advance, and there are varied environments to work within the company with opportunities at all levels. Excellence is rewarded.

    Cons

Frequent organization changes, leadership changes and then cultural changes as leadership shifts. Compensation can be at the lower side, however the benefits package is strong. Organization tends to be thinly staffed so the workload can be challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand tele-commuting and work from home options for appropriate roles, promote a positive culture.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, work environment is good.

    Cons

Poor training on the multitude of computer systems required to perform job successfully and timely. Most often an "oh you'll figure it out" attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at AXA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good office culture and lots of staff motivation events. Salary is reasonable if you can prove your worth. Like any large company, there can be a bit of turnover and depending on your department, this can mean uneven workload.

    Cons

Bought out, and the new company changed lots of things, made the office a pretty negative place to work in. I think AXA has been selling off quite a bit of its locations in the past couple of years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your staff are your greatest asset, try to remember that.

    Great experience - wonderful company

Former Employee - Senior Vice President in New York, NY

I worked at AXA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Well managed, financial strong, world leading property, casualty, life insurer. Great, world class benefits, many locations to work from. Strong training programs. Well diversified.

    Cons

Can be very political. Strong focus on Paris Home Office. As you rise in the ranks, speaking French, or better, being a French national will greatly improve your chances of success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to focus so much on Paris. Good ideas can come from outside of the city of lights.

Great place to make a career, not the best place to learn

    Former Employee - Financial Advisor
    Former Employee - Financial Advisor

I worked at AXA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Solid company, with great products and good people.

    Cons

Be prepared to learn by lots of trial and error. Not the best introductory place to learn or develop the necessary skills needed for the industry. Definitely need work on what they do for their new employees. Basically "welcome to the company, now get out there".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure your managers have decisive plans prepared for their new employees. Need to take another look at their intro program to help guide the new (especially younger ) newbies.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
