I have been working at AXIS Capital Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company had pros but under new direction there are currently not any.

    Cons

This company should be called CNA not Axis. Upper management is bringing over 'everyone' from CNA and getting rid of true talent. Due to saving bucks for the merger people didn't get raises or promotions. Now that it has happened they still haven't taken care of employees.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at AXIS Capital Holdings as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Compensation was above average Benefits package above average

    Cons

Almost one third of the workforce is contract workers and they are viewed as second class citizens. No respect, ignored, talked down to, dumped on with the tasks/projects no one else wants to do. Morale is poor, no one cares about others or the company or doing a good job. Behind the times in technology, work perks and old fashion values. HR department is the most unorganized and cliquish group I have ever seen.

    Advice to Management

Blow up HR department and start over. Company will never correct morale or turnover issues with the current HR team.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at AXIS Capital Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Salary and benefits are competitive

    Cons

The corporate culture rewards bullying, back stabbing and other shady behavior, HR policies are applied and enforced inconsistently. Some employees are golden and can get away with constant absenses. Other employees do not have the same luxuries. A lot depends on which team you are on and if you are drinking buddies with your manager.

    Advice to Management

Look at the good employees who have left under questionable circumstances and ask why

I have been working at AXIS Capital Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    office location central in Zurich

    Cons

Depending on which team you work for your experience will vary tremendously. Claims at Axis Re (Zurich) has a very high turnover and has difficulty retaining its people due to weak management and broken team relationships. If you are interviewing to join this team, ask interviewer WHY they are looking to fill the position and WHY the person before you departed.

I worked at AXIS Capital Holdings (More than 5 years)

    Pros

AXIS pay very well but there is an expectation that employees will work at over 110% utilization.

    Cons

Different teams within AXIS play by different rules. For example, telecommuting is not allowed across the entire organization even thought most work may be conducted remotely.

    Advice to Management
