I have been working at Aaron's full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

You can achieve the G M level and beyond without a degree. You don't have to work 70 hours per week to produce the large salaries. The business can all be learned on the job.

    Cons

It can be a stressful environment. You do have to deal with thieving customers and people who are less than average intelligence. You will have to deal with insect infestations at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a stronger franchise accountability. Monitor those franchise owners who rarely visit their stores and allow multi unit managers to do nothing.

I have been working at Aaron's full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Solid base salary and is you are a regional manager or GM you can make a lot of money.

    Cons

Most the people working in the store are not college educated and not the people you want to hire for most fortune 1000 companies. Corporate leadership, division and regional staff is not experienced outside of Aaron's. Most employees started with Aaron's any know no other work other than Aaron's. Aaron's is still ran much like a family owned business that is struggling to come with grips its publicly traded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put more thought into your staff, their experience outside of lease to own. My first month Aaron's pledged a million dollars to charity and then 6 months later excs flew a private jet across the country to talk about their vision, then a month later tons of people were fired. It would have been smart to have voluntary retirement, halt in matching 401k, tuition reimbursement etc. I feel the c- level staff didn't take these measure because they have not worked in a corporation before or other than Aaron's
