Your coworkers can either make or break your experience

Impact Team Member (Current Employee) Tukwila, WA

ProsPros- Co-workers are usually pretty nice and laid back
    Easy to get time off
40% discount if you like the clothes
The uniforms are so great. Get your uniform from clearance and you might spend $30 max
The managers are around your age
The tasks are simple enough that once you do them you'll remember them even months later
You literally choose your own hours. Working later as an Impact you have a high chance of doing Prep, Marketing or Replenishment, working earlier means you're more likely to do Update, Audit, or Forms. Figure out which set you like best and plan your schedule accordingly.
Lots of hours in the summer. You can also pick up shifts to always hover around 30+ hours a week
You get pay and a half on holidays
Once you're in the company you're in for however long you want. Through high school and college I reapply online for the summer and a day later they call me back saying I'm rehired and to start as soon as I can.

ConsCons- Sometimes hours can be stingy, especially during the school year. I usually got 15-20 a week but sometimes I'd be stuck with 10 or so.
Wearing flip flops all the time hurts your feet
    Call. Ins. Enough said.
The customers are pretty snobby. The clothes are expensive so they usually look down on you.
Sometimes managers can be really rude, I had a couple that played blatant favorites
The smell can get to you. Not as much for Impact members though since we're in the back
Very minimal training. I've been here 4 years and never had an official "training" day. Just learned as I went, the video was very little help.
Dark lighting. Hello, we should not be in a cave!

Advice to Senior ManagementDitch your CEO. He's out of touch with customers and he's just plain rude. Keep the store with about 15 impacts and 20 or so models so everyone gets a lot of hours and we all know each other and what to do. Include more formal training days, most Impact members only know the basics, not marketing, forms, audits, etc. Raise wages after a few years or so with the company.

Fun atmosphere no room for advancement unless you believe in the company vision and go where they tell you to move.

    Full-Time Stock (Current Employee)

ProsVery inclusive of diversity. quick moving job

Conspoor pay, poor managment, and poor hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on pay and promoting those that excel not those that mindlessly follow orders.

    Fake Opportunities

Store Manager (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThey value MIT hires more then the managers they have had for years. Managers are told there are options for them but they have to move all the time. Little work life balence.

    ConsUnrealistic expectations.
District managers that only care about looks, numbers and their careers not the people under them.

    Associate

Associate (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsFun place to work. Easy and enjoyable staff. Nice employee discounts.

ConsAsked to call in one hour before shift and told whether they need you or not. If business slows, you are asked to leave early. If they are busy, you may be called to come in for the rush. Hard to plan on a consistent income.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate steady work environment with scheduled hours maintained. Pay minimum of four hours to allow staff to pay for their gas. Eliminate call in requirement. It's impossible to plan employee days around a possible work schedule.

    worst job ever

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    Prosthere is absolutely none

Consall you do is stand, fold and try to breathe through the thick air of their perfume/cologne they have on timer that sprays every 5 mins ....

Advice to Senior ManagementBe nicer to your employees and realize that there is not much to do in any A&F so they will complete the days task and still have nothing to do.

Most chill and laid back part-time job you would want.

Impact Member (Current Employee) Orlando, FL

ProsThe managers are very laid back and become good friends with you. Your schedules are totally flexible, do you can literally work as much or as little as you want although you might be asked to open your availability during the busy season. Associates get a 30% discount on everything, and a 50% discount when it's time for uniform updates. The clothing is excellent quality and very comfortable, so the discount is a major perk. The work is easy and very basic. Coworkers are really friendly and cool, so you feel welcomed immediately.

ConsCompany is losing money so don't expect a raise unless you become a vital employee. The company does hire based on looks and competence, but mostly on looks. This makes some people uncomfortable. You aren't "required" to buy any of the clothing, but you have style guides with clothing you are expected to follow every season. You might have to purchase an item or two if you want to be kept on.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't forget your associates are working with you, not for you. Treating them with respect and kindness triples productivity and respect towards you.

    Alright...

Store Manager (Current Employee) Orlando, FL

ProsI've been blessed with having great District Managers. Both very helpful and very nice. The company provides you with plenty of tools to try and succeed. The company also values people a lot.

ConsWhen receiving visits from Regional managers and Directors they always tear you a new one. Understandable they don't travel hundreds of miles to pat you on the back, but I do believe in both negative and positive reinforcement.

At times it seems they value things wrong, they're priorities are out of wack. When a regional manager visits at times they care more about something being easily being misplaced or witnessing a sticker on the floor instead of on the clothing than worrying about the business itself.

    Advice to Senior ManagementPrioritize better.

Work with your team to get them where they would like to go.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
