Nice company/people, Work-life balance could improve

Business and Systems Integration Senior Analyst (Current Employee)
    Saint Louis, MO

ProsIf you like to travel, you will find many projects that are willing to staff you outside of your area. Compensation and benefits are great. I've had people surprised to hear how much my co-pay is (if I even have one) for doctor appointments and such. The people are great. Most who leave come back because you work with some pretty great people.

ConsWhile you accrue tons of PTO, I doubt you'll find time to use. Work-life balance is non-existent. The only time you'll probably get a break is when you're not staffed and depending on the length of your project, that can be years. Promotions are tough. It's not necessarily about how good you are at what you do or how hard you worked. It's more on whether or not your supervisor likes you. The company is also pretty large so you may get lost in the mix.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease keep up with your subordinates' performance/goals. Waiting until the last minute makes it tougher when it's time for reviews.

    Good place to start

    Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee)

Prosgreat people. good pay. pretty good work life balance

Consprojects are very hit or miss. Accenture Federal Services is incredibly bureaucratic and the projects are very long term and boring. Definitely apply to Accenture LLP and not AFS if you are interested in a more fast pace and engaging work environment

    Lackluster

    Senior Analyst (Current Employee)
    San Antonio, TX

ProsThis company is definitely good beginning experience. The best things about my role are the work life balance because overtime has to be authorized and schedules can sometimes be flexed. The company also offers lots of paid time off. The people are nice and easy to work with for the most part and the supplemental benefits (life lock, pet insurance) are nice, as well.

ConsThe pay is way below average for degreed individuals in San Antonio… forget about being paid on a national scale. There is not a lot of growth opportunity at the senior analyst level, which includes lateral movement. Non-federal roles are mostly call center operations and there are little to no opportunities to work from home. Most all roles require working with an offshore team and are customer service, despite what your title is. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of micromanagers in lead positions, which is counterproductive and inefficient.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't treat lower level employees (e.g., call center employees) like children. Monitoring bathroom breaks, lunches, and keystrokes doesn't match Accenture culture or encourage people to stay. The goal is to get the job done, not play nanny and waste managerial resources.

Accenture Technology Labs- not too bad

Research & Development Senior Analyst (Former Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsThis review reflects the Accenture Tech Labs and not the rest of the (inferior) firm. Labs is a playground of ideas where you get to create new ways to "innovate" industries. Each project is worthy of being it's own start-up (and they have the same low success rates too). The managers are very nice and the the people are some of the best coworkers you could ask for in an office setting (if you like young, diverse, down-to-earth people). The managers challenge you to go beyond your abilities in order to create something new and the sense of community here is amazing. It's a good stepping stone right after college since you're exposed to different industries and projects.

ConsYou will almost never see your work ship anywhere as you only work on small scale demos that Accenture tries to sell for parts. Most of the entry level positions here require you to be an adept developer. The problem, is Accenture only pays you as if you're any old consultant. Why would you work here to be in the 70k range when a better company can easily offer you 100,00k+ AND you can actually see your work ship?

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your employees better. If you want skilled developers then you should be willing to pay the market rate.

Very difficult to switch into different groups and often got stuck on projects too long.

    Technology Consulting Analyst (Former Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsDecent place to start a career in terms of pay, access to senior leadership and some learning opportunities.

ConsVery poor alignment of interests and projects. Hard to get off of projects that were unappealing (especially if the client liked you).

Advice to Senior ManagementMore flexibility in terms of giving people projects that align with interests / skills. That will be the only way you retain talent long term.

Company has fulfilled my basic employment requirements.

Senior Transaction Processing Analyst (Current Employee)
    San Antonio, TX

ProsThe culture is diverse and accepting, time off policies are adequate when there is not a client that requires you to work during the holidays.

ConsThere is no department that interacts with you; everything is handled via email . Compensation is minimal and should be reevaluated based on experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should be more involved with the individual career goals/needs of each FTE. A well-defined career plan should be established for FTE's that want to make Accenture a career.

Good place to launch your career

    Senior Analyst (Current Employee)
    Seattle, WA

ProsTons of training and professional growth opportunities which make this one of the most rewarding companies to work for. Plenty of opportunities to work with clients who were leaders in their fields.

ConsAccenture is a huge company, and can be a bit hard to navigate at first. The promotions process is quite confusing and extremely political.

Great company, lots of room to grow

    Senior Analyst (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsAccenture is a great company for someone fresh out of school. There are plenty of projects and Accenture has so many divisions that you can network your way to do what you want to do. Furthermore, the compensation is very generous and Accenture generally cares about employees.

ConsThe review process can be very unnerving especially when you have to be compared against your colleagues. Even if you are doing what you're supposed to, you might get a below expectation rating.

The work itself sometimes require you to give up social life.

    Amazing place to work

Business and Systems Integration Senior Analyst (Current Employee)
    Florham Park, NJ

Pros-Learning experience is phenomenal. I learn something new every day. There are also tons of training courses available.

-Extremely smart co-workers. Everyone has great stories to tell about what they know.

-Good work/life balance. Sometimes we work long hours, but managers make sure we don't work on the weekends. Fridays we can work from home!

-Great corporate culture. I feel valued and the company really cares about each individual.

Cons-None. I've had a great ride so far and I can't wait for what is in store for me in the future!
