Good project experiences for the most part but disappointed in management

    Consultant (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsPossibilities to work abroad and get a range of project experiences

ConsBad managers and constantly changing criteria for promotions

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease value for people development across the position hierarchy, change the way ratings are made to leave less room for subjectivity, and stop changing the criteria for promotions

    Lots of pressure from company

Systems Integration Analyst (Current Employee) Raleigh, NC

ProsPay, Vacation time, travel perks, resume builder

ConsLifestyle, long hours, Accenture isn't flexible and pressures you to decide

Advice to Senior ManagementThink of your analysts as more than just a number

They never paid me for work I did.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsQuick turn around on getting me on the project

ConsThe client didn't pay them and therefore Accenture never paid me. They also never paid me for the full expenses I incurred to fly up there, stay in a hotel, car etc. They paid me some; but not all I had to incurr and take out of my retirement account personally to get to the client's site.

Then when I told them I would sue them, they said "go ahead", we'll pay you for one day and "then we'll be in compliance with the law". Here's $xxx - take it or leave it!

    Inadequate

Analyst (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsGreat place to launch a career as someone fresh out of undergraduate school. It is known that the company does well with its retention efforts at this level as opposed to professionals coming into the company.

ConsBy the same token, this company is very purposeful in recruiting undergraduates because more times than not, this group does not have much of an idea of what they want with their career. Therefore, it's a greater investment because people will stay at the company because they know no different and hopes of promotion. It deems itself as being entrepreneurial which is misleading because sharing ideas or improvements are not rewarded.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is very hit or miss. I think it's very important to allow for feedback which can be incorporated in training for managers. I have had both sides of the coin with great managers and horrible managers but the great managers are not recognized.
