    Pros

There are some nice people here. Few, but there are a few.

    Cons

Either you are a manager or you are not. If you are not a manager, your opinion is basically dirt. In fact, you are really a probationary employee with Accenture. Nobody takes you seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue and quit being so damn arrogant. Quit shooting from the hip. Think things through and think long term.

I worked at Accenture as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Many fun events to foster community, multiple workshops to develop professional skills, well developed internship program, HR was great

    Cons

I had an incredibly inept manager who explicitly lied on my review, zero access to higher management, micromanaged, did not appreciate the way I saw people sell each other out, and was underutilized and bored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a spirit of community and growth, rather than one of ruthlessness, with zero integrity.

I worked at Accenture as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

The only thing I enjoyed was meeting people from different cities/states that came together on this project.

    Cons

Compensation is extremely low for the workload that is given. There are no overtime yet they ask you to stay late which is against the law. The people they move up to "leads"/"managers" have NO management experiences. They have no idea what they are doing. They don't listen to what you have to say or the ideas you have because they want you to do what they asked you to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure the "leads"/"managers" you promote or hire have some management experiences, if not, make sure you send them to management classes. That is highly recommended.

    Pros

25 days of vacation. The people in my location volunteer often. This is definitely employee driven even though the company will try to steal the shine.

    Cons

Pathetic pay. Because the company did not reach its fiscal goals, employees received an insulting 2% bonus but no raises. This is absolutely unacceptable. I truly hope the attrition rate swells as a result. Especially living in the San Francisco Bay area, I'm sure many coworkers will find other work. The meritocracy is a joke. Managers and senior managers alike will tell you the way to get raises/promotions is by becoming the lap dog of a higher up and following his/her project/career path.
Work/life balance is a figment of your imagination. I do not even travel but the commute makes it just as bad. My job can be done from home but I have to be on the client site. I believe my supervisor and Accenture leadership could convince the client but just does not want to.

    Pros

They work very hard to find great people. They offer referral bonuses to employees who bring in good qualified candidates. Most of the staff under management are amazing hard working people.

    Cons

The company, often referred to as "The Firm", is rapidly changing the culture and environment so that it is no longer a pleasant place to be.
Employees are constantly bombarded by corporate spam telling us how amazing it is to work there. Our computers are so loaded down with company "security" programs that they are barely functional. The level of micromanaging from a far is getting to be ridiculous. They are increasingly scrutinizing every decision and function we make.
They constantly push this idea of "career path", however there isn't any formal program to help anyone work toward a promotion or other position. Their performance evaluation process is one whereby a manager that has 30 employees, and must fit each into a ranking of significantly above peer, above peer, consistent with peer, below peer, significantly below peer. Accenture does believe in force ranking. So for those 30 employees there are only so many consistent, above and significantly above slots available. If you have a super star performing team, somebody is getting pushed down to below peer or lower.
Each year everyone's email is flooded with requests to donate to one of Accentures favorite charities. The number of emails regarding this campaign is obnoxious.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While your shareholders love the fact that you control your costs by lowering insurance benefits, cutting bonuses and raises, even in years when there are significant profits. However, motivated employees will go find gainful employment at other companies which desire to invest in their people and treat them with dignity and respect.

    Pros

Local management is great, no control over salary though. Honestly the company lives on a reputation pre recession. Make sure you join consulting, not another workforce.

    Cons

Low pay, bad pto, work forces are a scam. Lots of corporate games. Honestly this company is what is wrong with modern corporations.

    Pros

Has a lot of Fortune 500 client accounts, which is good to have on one's resume especially when starting out early in one's career. Working with various clients means one can get hands on on a lot of market tools knowledge pretty quickly.

    Cons

Too Much Politics, especially when it comes to annual appraisals. HR's are the most useless people I've seen. They have a policy for everything. Promotions and Salary hikes are almost non-existent.
